Need help starting out

Hi,

I'm a newbie in the market for a multi zone AV receiver, most likely a 1 to 2 year old model Pioneer Elite. The Den or Family room is meant for Audio and Video and will house the components. The other rooms will be for audio only being driven by a different input source. Please review the diagrams below and comment.
I'm think a 7.1 system in a 5.1 application to get a second zone. Just wondering if I'd need any other amps or speaker selector.

I looked at the Pioneer Elite 92thx manual and it looks like you can use the Surround Back channels for Zone 2 but you would need an additional 2 channel amp to power a Zone 3.

How many Zones are you looking at? I see Family Room, Living Room, Kitchen and Outside. I don't recall seeing a 4 Zone receiver but maybe a 3 Zone with an A + B speaker switch (I'm not sure this exists either) would work.

Clarification - Living Room, Kitchen, and Outside could be 1 zone. The "Den" and "Family room" are the same room in the two drawings.

I was looking at a Pioneer VSX-1019ah or a Pioneer Elite SCX-03.
