LED and Plasma (yeah another one)

If there’s one thing I’ve noticed is that people who hang around message boards posting questions can’t make decisions. What’s wrong with us?. Why do we need to be vilified?

Here I am looking at a TC-P54V10 Panasonic and the new LED technology from Samsung and I can’t decide. Maybe were looking for someone to point out some flaw that we didn’t notice.

Both pictures are amazing. The first time I saw the new LED I thought wow!! The picture just jumped from the screen. But today when I looked at it again the LED seems  just a little to unnatural for my tastes. I was looking at them side by side same source and the Plasma seemed warmer to me. The tones looked more natural. Although the LED seemed sharper, crisper. If that makes sence.

I have a DLP at the moment and have always been amazed at how great the picture is. But I’m moving and the DLP won’t fit in the cabinet of the new house.

When I told a friend of mine, who’s opinion I trust. He told me that the Plasma is light years ahead of LED.  Plasma is in a whole different league. TV

Personally, I believe the panasonic is the better set.  I think the V10 is about the best set on the market today.

With that said, though, you need to consider your viewing environment.  If you are lots of lights and windows that are going to reflect off that glass screen then the LED may be a better fit (although I think the LEDs have glass screens too, so that may be a wash).

I think you'd be happy with either one, but I believe the Panny is the better set overall.  I bought a G15 series several weeks ago and could not be more pleased with it.

Thanks for the input Seth.

The room will have a bit of light, but I watch most of my TV in the evening. Besides I'll be able to put up some drapes to block out the light if need be.

I have the TV now but don't want to unpack it till we move which might be 4 or 5 weeks.
The waiting is pure torture.
