This is awesome news! When I was a kid, this is one of the few cartoons that I would actively check for at regular intervals. Is there an estimated release date for Vol. 2 from those in the know, or is that release dependent on sales of this volume?

I picked this up at Target last week along with volume 2. Volume 2 has a sticker on it saying it's a Target exclusive. The DVDs only contain the Laff-A-Lympics segments.

So if you are a fan, you'll need to make a trip to Target to get volume 2.......

I have purchased the volume as well. They talked about captain caveman in the opening intro, but, it is not included in the actual dvd. However, that makes sense considering Captain Caveman and the missing scooby-doo episodes show up on the 2nd season when laff-lympics was changed to Scooby-doo allstars.

Not really.  The 2 hour "Scooby's All Star Laff-a-Lympics" show consisted of 4 shows,
Captain Caveman & the Teen Angels, the Scooby Doo Show, Blue Falcon & Dynomutt,
and of course, the Laff-a-Lympics segments.    The only difference between season 1 and Season 2 is that the Dynomutt segment was dropped, as no new episodes were produced, so the show was shortened to 90 minues.

What we're getting on this DVD is only the "laff-a-lympics" segment, in it's syndicated show version.  But the theme opening they've chosen to release on this DVD is from the opening of whole 2 hour show, thus it contains all the elements.

I was blinded by nostalgia on the purchase of Volume 1, and I got burned. The Olympics segments are absolute trash. It was one of my first experiences with crossovers, so that's probably why I liked it when I was younger. Seen with adult eyes, it just looks cheap and formulaic.

yeah, it was not a great series by itself. It was better with captain caveman segments along with the unreleases Scooby-doo episodes.

I, on the other hand, have really been enjoying these two Laff-a-lympics releases. Hopefully there will be more on the way.
