I haven't created a thread here in ages, but I know where to go when I need to solicit better-than-average advice.
Pulled the trigger on the new Panny earlier this week after my 4805 crapped out after four years of hard use. I need a 50ft HDMI cable (1.3 cert or later) by Friday when the new projector is due to arrive. I'll be hooking it up to my Denon 3808CI, which has a PS3 connected to it (currently, video is through component. HDMI is currently employed for the HD audio codecs).
I went to Monoprice but their 50ft cables aren't HDMI 1.3. I've heard good things about thier long cables (I have one of their 3ft cables) but I'm concerned that if it's not 1.3, I lose out on deep color support. I sent an email to their customer support. Their response is as follows:
Hello Mr. Dwayne
In regards to your question, which particular length cables were you considering, because unfortunately we only carry 1.3 category 2 certified cables from 4ft up to 25ft? Although we carry extended length cable beyond that which have been tested to carry a 1080p signal as well but haven't been certified and therefore are 1.2 rated. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Should you have any further questions, please feel free to email us.
Any further questions may be directed to ............@monoprice.com
We appreciate your business.
Sincerely,
..... .....
Can someone please steer me in the right direction for a solid performing cable that won't break the bank? Hoping to keep it at around a bill.
In the end, my setup will look like this:
Panasonic AE4000U
PS3
Denon 3808CI
Axiom M80s
Axiom VP150
Axiom QS8s
Squeezebox Duet (FLAC Library)
Even though I haven't posted in ages, I still come around quite a bit. It's been a blast watching this site grow - Ron and Parker created something special.
Thanks,
-Dwayne
