The Republic dvd is also cropped a bit on the right, isn't it? The colorized version has the same problem, but it was also taken from the same source. I guess it wouldn't bother me so much if it didn't occur at such an important part of the film. I'm seeing it on the big screen next weekend, so maybe I can see if it is on that print. It almost looks like a scratch that had dvr applied to it, causing the line to break up.

When I say definitive, I mean maybe someone who actually works with digital tools in transferring chiming in to say whether or not it looks to be a digital problem or if it is print damage that has been dnr and the scratch broken up.

Purchased the UK version of this blu ray several months ago. On this version the original black and white, plus the colorized version are on the same disc. I dont have the US disc , but looking at the blu ray last night , it seems to be the same transfer as the US.

I'm not really familiar with this disc.  Why wouldn't they speak up?
