The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Three Stooges and Up for me this week. I will eventually get the rest of the available PIXAR films as well. Thanks for the Roundup!
You can't beat the $19.99 pre-order price on the 4 disc BD set of UP this week.  Its a fantastic movie that looks and sounds great.

Eric,

If you intend to get Monsters, Inc. at some point anyway, you might as well go for the great, current Amazon preorder deal discussed over here:

http://www.hometheaterforum.com/forum/thread/294472/monsters-inc-and-up-4-disk-set-twin-pack-now-32-98-shipped-at-amazon-see-post-31

... unless you're aversed to buying online (even from Amazon).  I really doubt you'll find the Monsters, Inc. BD set priced any lower than that effectively ~$13 price (in that combo purchase) anytime soon, if ever.  Pixar titles are just too popular to get discounted all that much all that often.  I finally took the plunge myself even though I hadn't intended to upgrade to BD for Monsters, Inc (unless the deal was too good to pass up).

BTW, also, threw in the Heat BD in my (pre)order of the 2 Pixar BDs.

And thanks, Mike, for another weekly roundup -- and thanks to Pat as well (and I like seeing the blue color used for BD prices, which makes them easier to pick out at a glance).

Thanks! I love Amazon, so I will order this.

Those interested in "Up" on Blu-ray should also be aware that Disney will have a $10 coupon online on release day. There has been speculation about this on the 'net, but I saw an actual TV spot that will air next week that confirms it.

disneypixarupcoupon.com will resolve to:
disney.go.com/disneyvideos/animatedfilms/up/couponoffer/

This theoretically would allow someone to get both "Up" and "Monsters, Inc." at the $32.98 price point in-store by combining the coupon with the Best Buy offer. If Amazon doesn't charge you tax, the online deal is still better, unless (as noted before) you don't like shopping online or just have to have it right away.

I also heard of an $8 "Monsters, Inc." coupon from Disney Rewards as well... be interesting if someone got Best Buy to do their deal along with both coupons.

EDIT: I now have the Rewards coupon from logging in and entering the UPC from my DVD of "Monsters, Inc." Let's see how BB reacts Tuesday morning...

Sounds great that there will be more deals on release day to fuel the competition.  I wonder if Amazon knew that would be coming and decided to cut to the chase w/ their own $10-off combo deal on top of the gradual price drops -- afterall, anyone who preordered the set at higher prices from them was guaranteed the price drops too, and there weren't any other comparable preorder deals around to push Amazon.

I also wonder though if we wouldn't somehow see another case of the $10-off Snow White deal showing up last minute for this (where previous early-preorder buyers got credited the $10 on their next order of Disney titles) -- I know... wishful thinking.

Anyway, for myself, I'd rather not have to hassle w/ hunting down the deal at a local BB and get it all to work out to roughly the same price as Amazon -- yes, Amazon charges me tax.  Amazon's deal is a slamdunk right now -- the only drawback is I'll probably need to wait a few days for it to arrive, but it'll be hassle-free.  Maybe if the BB deal along w/ the coupon can be done right now online for guaranteed in-store pickup, that would be different.  Anything less than that is probably not worth the potential hassle to me given BB's track record at their B&M stores -- that's usually the only way I'd shop for movies at BB.

And for those who can get BB to honor the additional $8 Disney Rewards coupon, you've probably earned it.    I'll just be content enough w/ the extra buck I saved from Amazon's Gold Box offer.

I will be getting Up, just not sure if it will be the 1 or 2 disc version yet....
Alright, I think I have my Pixar Blu-Ray plan mapped out.

Go to Best Buy:
1. Pick up Up, have them price adjust it for their website (19.99) and also get Monsters Inc. with it (18.99 if purchased with Up)
2. Use both manufacturer's coupons ($8 off Monsters Inc Disney Rewards coupon & $10 off Up Coupon)

Both Blu-Rays end up working out to $20.98, pre-tax.
The unknown in all of that is whether your Best Buy will allow price matching and a coupon. Anecdotal experience from several SlickDeal members indicates their stores allow only one or the other. Definitely YMMV, and props to you if you can get it to work -- be sure to tell us how you did it!
I'll be picking up Up, Monsters, Inc. and Watchmen on Blu-ray and The Three Stooges on DVD.

Thanks for the prices, guys!
After a tough-on-the-wallet week, I'm relieved that nothing interests me this week.
Let's see...got Up and Monster's Inc. pre-ordered at Amazon and I'm gonna go pick up Mad Men S2 at BB this morning.  In addition to the slight splurge last week...yeah, I'm done...
Up, Monsters Inc, Logan's Run, and Godzilla all on Blu. Maybe someday i will get Near Dark, and that 5 disc Watchman thing. I will have to wait til i have money, and not sure if i want 5 discs of Watchman. I loved the movie, but i dont know how i would like the animated stuff IN the movie?

Thanks as always guys!

Just Up & Monsters, Inc. on BD for me this week. Preordered from Amazon using the Best Value combo deal ( http://www.hometheaterforum.com/forum/thread/294472/monsters-inc-and-up-4-disk-set-twin-pack-now-32-98-shipped-at-amazon-see-post-31 )

Amazon shipped my order on Friday via UPS Second Day Delivery (Prime Membership), so they will be here on Tuesday. However I won't be watching them right away because Tuesday is 11-10-09 which is the release date of COD: Modern Warfare 2!

An observation / a question: Why isn't The Accidental Husband being released on BD on Tuesday? I thought that was interesting, especially since it's a Sony movie.

Thanks as always for the Weekly RoundUp Mike and Patrick.  And I too appreciate the BD titles being listed in Blue!

Up Blu-Ray combo for me.  I'm planning to upgrade to HDTV by year's end; this and the Star Trek Blu that the wife is getting me for Christmas should make the perfect inauguration.

Will rent Accidental Husband.

What's in the Mamma Mia! gift set?
When I checked Target.com the Blu-Ray of A Charlie Brown Christmas is ALSO $ 17.99.
I called my local Target to see if they had it in stock and confirm the price on the Blu-Ray, and they did, indeed, confirm the Blu-Ray version is $17.99.

When I got there, there was a sale sign on the Blu-Ray as well.

Looks like I'll be buying Disney/Pixar's 2 disc UP at Best Buy when our new store opens up on Saturday the 14th at 10am & if I can get there early enough to be one of the first 50 customers I'll get a $20 gift card.   SO glad that BB moved into the old Circuit City building.

Yeah, my Best Buy is usually really good about that stuff (I guess I'm lucky ). The way I'll explain it if there is any issues, (and this is the way they've referred to it in the past) is that it isn't really a price match, since they are honoring their own (online) price. So hopefully that, along with a manufacturer's coupon that they get fully reimbursed for, shouldn't be a problem...

I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I wrote Amazon yesterday and asked them if I was eligible for the "Snow White Thank You" discount for Up and Monsters, Inc.  I received a reply from them this morning saying that I was not, but as a courtesy they would give me the $10 discount anyway.  So, they gave me a refund of $10.  That brings the price down to $23 total for the two movies.  Not bad.

will definitely be trying to use the Monsters $8 coupon plus the UP coupon...

Beware! Installing this coupon printer loaded a virus on my computer.

Okay, went to Best Buy to pick up Monsters, Inc. and Up.  Had both manufacturers coupons: $10 for Up and $8 for Monsters, Inc.  Also, had an ad from Fry's to price match with.  Fry's had Up for $19.95 and Monsters, Inc. for $23.77 with an offer for $10 off if you bought both, making the prices $14.95 & $18.77 respectively.  Also, pointed out to the person at customer service that Best Buy's own website had Up priced at $19.99 just to reinforce the Fry's pricing as she questioned whether or not the $19.95 in the Fry's ad was already reflecting the additional $10 off if you bought both.  Anyway, was able to price match to the Fry's pricing of $14.95 & $18.77, so with tax and then the manufacturers coupons my total came to $18.50 for both blu-rays.  Actually ended up spending only $10 as I had previously put down a $7.50 deposit on Up in order to get the exclusive steelbook case for holding the discs.

AND...I was ticked off that my amazon pre-order of Up & Monster's Inc (with a third item added AND with Super Saver Shipping) was marked in my account that it would ship on Nov. 16 and be delivered between Nov. 23 & Dec. 1.

Well, it shipped today (Nov. 10) and is marked for a delivery on Nov. 16.  But, I suspect it will likely get here Friday or Saturday (November 13 or 14).

Was able to get Up/Monsters blu at target for $16.xx with various coupons.
At Target UP scans $19.99 and INC. is $26.99. Target also has on pack $10 off for both. Disney has a $10 and an $8 off plus target.com has a $10 off. Target wouldn't allow all four coupons. So I didn't use the $8 coupon.

Frank,

How did you contact Amazon w/ the request?  I went thru a Contact Us link on the site the last couple days and got rejected.

Since it sounds like a couple different coupons can be stacked for a B&M purchase that comes very close to having that Snow White Thank You offer added, I'd like to give it another shot and maybe mention that there are better deals going on at B&M stores right now.

Thanks.
