I plan on picking this up next Monday night/ Tuesday morning when it comes out. Anyone else plan on getting it and if so when do you plan on picking it up? I am using a vacation day next week and plan on playing as much as I can that first 24 hours it is out. No wife or kids for a day and beer to drink. WooHoo!!

I don't think this is really CoD6. I'm not sure if World at War was really CoD5, either. Activision seems to have dropped the numbering on the titles, so even though this could be considered the 6th game, it's really just considered MW2.
The game looks good and I'm sure it will be great but I don't care too much about the online multiplayer and don't have the time to play a new game just yet. I'll try to wait until after the holidays to buy it.

I picked up the game on Monday night and there was a pretty large crowd for the game store in my area. I was number 61 and there had to be close to 85 or 90 people waiting in line. The crowd was in a good mood and everyone was joking around which made the wait pretty fun.
Once I got home at around 12:40am I fired up the mutiplayer and started going at it with the rest of the gamers. I played for about 3 1/2 hours and for once everyone on line was being pretty cool. I am sure that won't last for long.
Tuesday I fired up the actual game and went through about 4 levels. What I have played so far has been pretty intense and the story looks very interesting. I have already played through the "controversial level" and I could take it or leave it. However it does not bother me.
All in all I like the game so far and look forward to playing it this weekend.

This is probably a rental for me, given the brevity of the campaign (I'm not into competitive multiplayer, which is this game's bread-and-butter).
Plus I'm currently playing three games at once: Dragon Age Origins, Ratchet and Clank, and Borderlands. I'm going to wait a bit on MW2.

How does the new Ratchet and Clank compare to Ratchet and Clank:Future Tools?
I was thinking of picking up MW2, but after reading some comments made by the CEO of Activision I changed my mind. If the campaign is short that is another reason to skip it. I really don't care for online gaming. Run and gun bores me.

I finished the campaign, but really need to play it again to appreciate how much is going on. At times it is very intense and you only are concentrating on yourself and not looking around at the sheer volume of things around you. I did play on the easiest difficulty first, and it was easy, I could get shot 100 times before dying (I did die on occasion though).
I'm loving the multiplayer though. It's carnage. Very fast paced, was very difficult but i'm learning the levels so it's getting better. Think my kill ratio is right around 1.8 right now.

I rented this to try it out. Intense and pretty decent; however, after playing it for awhile I was eventually reminded of what I've always hated in these COD games. I really hate the grenade spam that the programming pricks at Infinity Ward love so much.

Gernade Spam or well placed gernade? I admit that I get upset with the how well placed the gernades seem to be at times.
