I've used all 3 services over the past few months and have come to some conclusions that might be helpful.
I'm more impressed with AT&T U-verse than I thought I would be. The HD picture quality is great, and I like how I'm able to watch recordings from any room off my main DVR in the living room. I don't like the fact that the remote doesn't support slow-motion, but I understand they're working on that. I'm also disappointed they don't offer the NBA League Pass package, so I have to continue subsccribing to DirecTV to get that! That adds to my TV programming costs!
DirecTV has good HD programming, but I hate the fact I have to sign a 2-year agreement (unlike U-Verse) as well as pay $200 for a DVR that they require me to return once I stop being a customer. That's usury!
Comcast hasn't fared as well as DirecTV and U-Verse. With the new digital channel initiative mandated by the FCC (I guess), they sent me a new box that allows me to get more channels on one of my HDTVs, but they don't tell you that it strips out the HD channels, thereby making your HDTV useless unless! (unless you're willing to pay more for a HD-DVR). In addition, for the NBA League Pass subscription I had, none of the channels dedicated to NBA games were in HD, whereas with DirecTV, they were in HD. That was a huge drawback that told me that Comcast just can't handle HD like DirecTV and U-Verse.
Overall, the pricing is pretty much the same for similar programming packages across all 3 services, but I would give AT&T U-verse the edge because there's no 2-year agreement, and you don't have to pay for a DVR that you ultimately have to return. If they would only offer the NBA League Pass and slow-mo on the remote control, they would get a 5-stars from me.
