needing to upgrade receiver

I currenty have an hk avr247. I've been pleased with it for several years now but know it's time for an upgrade. I need a receiver that can handle 1080 plus blue ray. Any suggestions.

What budget? If you like H/K then the new 1600 or 2600 would work. So would last years 254.

Otherwise, the Onkyo 507/607 and RC160, Pioneer 919/1019, Yamaha 465/565/, Denon 1610 all have HDMI vs 1.3a (repeaters, not switchers) which is what you are looking for.

What's the difference between switchers and repeaters?
