24: Season Eight - Page 16

Let's all have a moment of silence for President Hassan and his fabulous hair.

That was a nerve-shredding couple of hours!

That ending threw me for quite a loop and it's so strange because this is the first time that the terrorists actually achieved their ultimate objective and pulled one over on Jack! I had to giggle *just a little* at that "live" net feed of Hassan, it appeared to be in 3D lol.

I don't know what's coming next but at least for right now Jack and CTU have taken a tremendous hit, I also felt much fear for Renee because I thought for sure the big twist was going to be either her or Chloe being killed.

When that Lady Gaga look-a-like reached for that piece I thought for sure she was going to get the drop on Renee, glad to be proven wrong.

Dana? That chick is just bat shit crazy lol. When she said "I wanna talk to Jack Bauer." my first thought was "Ohhhh I don't think you wanna do that."

Quite a position president Taylor was in, either save Hassan and keep her oath intact or hand him over and save thousands? I'll admit that part of me was actually on the side of those two who conspired against her, the bastards did almost kill Ethan, though.

Either way Jack isn't a guy who likes to lose, I'm expecting much ass kicking in these last hours.

Lastly, Jack hailing a taxi was priceless.

I gotta admit...there's something about seeing the president of the United States, with an armed guard, break into an office and arrest two of her trusted aides (one of them an army general) and charge them with treason.

That's pretty freakin' cool.

Loved the episode(s).
I can actually admit the writers did something I didn't see coming.
Not that I didn't think they would kill him but not in that way.
It's kind of a cheat though, unless they knew CTU was coming and Dana was in on it, why tape delay?
Another small nit, Jack figuring the mole because the guy drove into a parking garage...

Hello!?!?!  Every time a terrorist has gotten away, they go right to a parking structure.

Dana - Hi boss and head of CTU, I need to get on your PC, can you leave me for a few minutes?
You can?  great!

Madame President - Hassan's wife and daughter, I know you are under tremendous shock seeing your husband taken away to the terrorists, lets watch him on the big screen potentially die in a rain of bullets during the rescue attempt.

One thing I wasn't clear about, did the head soul patch terrorist die?
I could have sworn I saw him die in the gunfire but they never show Jack check the dead bodies or remove any masks.

I am not too optimistic on the last episodes.  I never watched a preview this season but after that, basically finale, I was interested in seeing where they go.

Lucky for them, the disgraced ex-Prez is only a few minutes away!
;)

I'm pretty sure that he was the guy wearing the ski mask that Jack shot.

Yup.

I'd say since we didn't ID the body we could be surprised later...but there's no way the CTU forces would miss that the main guy wasn't among the dead in the room.

Here is a review that says he is still alive.

I firmly believe he was killed but it was odd that they didn't devote at least 1/2 a second of Jack taking his ski mask off.
For all he knows, the main guy taped it and bolted the room.

24 WAY OVER THE TOP as usual.

Hassan takes a heavy object like that to Jack Bauer

to knock him unconscious?

Also, how did Hassan get in the other vehicle at the
parking garage during a high speed chase up the
garage ramps?  In fact, after Dana alerted the
terrorists all that was pulled off in a matter of minutes.

I guess it just doesn't pay to figure this all out.

Was quite shocked about Hassan.  Very sad.

The show has managed to finally kick into first gear
these past few episodes.  Only took halfway into the
season to get there.

Well, that "imminent" threat didn't last long.  Had a hard time caring whether Hassan made it or not.  Seemed like a good dude, but he's one dude.

Why would Dana know that much information about where the terrorists were?

While these last two episodes were actually okay, now that the nuclear rods have been acquired and Hassan is dead, there's really nothing left in this season to care about.  Though I'm sure they'll do something absurd like kill off Rene or Chloe just to give Jack something to do for the rest of the season.

Also seemed ridiculous that Jack didn't figure out the Prius right away...since he seems to have a sixth sense for everything else, it didn't occur to him that the car that just jumped out in front of him in the middle of the pursuit might have been involved?
I agree that Dana shouldn't have known so much about the details of the plan, but without her knowledge, CTU wouldn't have known where to go...

Also, at least according to the official plot synopsis on Fox.com, Samir is among the dead.

The last 10-15 minutes were absolutely the most heart-pounding, adrenaline-pumping, intense moments in several years.  My heart was racing - it was a great rush!

Some silliness this week but not as much as previous episodes. I'd go so far as to call the last two episodes good. Lets hope they can keep it up for the rest of the season.

And Jack's :"TAAAXXIIIIIIIII!!!" was hilarious.

Yeah, I've got both of the McFarlane dioramas and he captured Kiefer's likeness much better. Plus I'm not a fan of real cloth on figures, it makes them appear too Ken Doll-ish.

After a pretty dull start to the season, 24 seems to have finally hit its stride again. Perhaps the lull this season was at the start rather than the middle.

The last 3 episode IMO have been a massive improvement and although the typical plot device of having a mole in CTU was used, I cant deny it has made the recent episodes far better as a result.
And count me as one who didnt see the plot development of Hassan's death. Was convinced Renee was going to be shot. Lets hope they can finish the season with a strong set of episode. The show deserves it.

Silent clock countdowns twice in a row.  That's a record
as far as I know.

I think I was more upset last week with the passing of
President Hussan.  I was never a big Renee fan.

Any show with President Logan is a good one.  Season
Five was my all-time favorite 24 season so I welcome
his character back.  Interesting to see if he remains
loyal to the President or he's up to his old tricks.

Huh? crazy: Dalia Hassan becoming the IRK's new President so quickly.

Awesome crazy: Chloe taking command of the CTU.

Looks like war machine Jack Bauer will be back next week. I was surprised that Renee died. Obviously, she was going to be shot but I figured she'd be in surgery for the rest of the season and her being injured would be enough to drive Jack back into the story.
Wow, just...wow.

Tonight's episode managed to top last weeks and that's no easy feat.

I already knew that something horrible was going to happen tonight but wasn't sure who, but everyone seemed to agree that it would be Renee.

Still, it was unbearable, I could barely watch.

Jack is going to go absolutely ape shit!
Unbelievable how much torture this guy can be put through. They might as well just kill him off at the end, it would be humane at this point. SoD Heller was right, everything he touches dies.

Oh, please, Gods of 24..... please let Charles Logan be up to his old tricks....

Anyone notice that Logan had no beard?

Could this mean that beardless Logan = evil Logan lol?

I cannot wait for Jack to see Dana again, in fact I wouldn't mind everyone getting a shot in, maybe they could all form a line and beat on her like that hysterical woman in Airplane! lol.

Was that Jack's first love scene of the entire series?

Too bad there won't be another season. Chloe could be the new president.
I saw that too, Mike, but that doesn't make those poor bastards any less dead when Jack finds them.

Completely!

If I was a bad guy and saw that promo...I'd quick be joining the Russian equivalent of a Witness Protection program and still be looking over my shoulder every minute figuring Jack's still gonna find me and do wery, wery bad things to me...

What Jack said:  I don't want revenge...I want justice!

What Jack meant:  I want revenge...dished up with my kind of justice!

Jack got Rack in the sack, then Rack got whacked?!  Nooooooooooooooooo!

Think how much better 24 would be if they didn't kill off all the good characters! And Renee was definitely one of the better ones. :-(  Will miss Annie Wersching - AKA Annie Scherwing! ;-)

The past four eps have been great.  Such a contrast to the dross earlier in the season.

If they did go that route she would be in and out of surgery,
almost fully recovered within 3 episodes.

It's amazing the hospital recovery time on 24.  Look at
Ethan for example.  Even Jack recovers from bullet wounds
in record time.

Like the fact Chloe is now running CTU.  I would bet by the
end of the season she gets promoted to a permanent position
as head of the organization.  It would be the perfect way to
end the show.

I'm surprised they even thought to put bandages on Jack for his apartment scenes!

Here's a pretty good interview with Howard Gordon about last nights shocker...

With this being the last season, I guess it would not be 24 if they went for the last time we see Jack is the same as the first time, which was him playing chess with Kim. I wonder if they have a retrospective planned before the final hour of the show.

It's still hard to believe to what happened to Renee. But now, I think the show has gotten back on track.
They might save a moment like that for the end of the planned theatrical movie.

One things for sure they'd better not kill him.

I am not in the 'Jack Bauer should die' camp and never will be.
