Yeah, no doubt about it but I'm hoping that the old boyfriend is gone forever and

(spoiler based on the commercial)

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
she just has to deal with the issues between her and Cole. Also, Arlo seeing Dana and the old boyfriend outside of the CTU last episode will probably have some repurcussions too.

The talk at the water cooler at work is that this may be
the last week of 24 we watch this season.

It's totally turned into a soap opera and really, nothing
that anyone could care about has happened since the
season began.

I won't stop watching because while it might not be at the level it once was in the end it's still one of my all-time favorite shows and I'll see it through to the very end. Went through the same thing with The Sopranos.
I told my wife I'll give it one more episode. She's going to watch it through the end of season with or without me, but I simply don't have time to give to something so poorly written and executed.

Keep in mind, when 24 debuted, it SAVED television in my mind. It was revolutionary. I'm amazed at how horrible it has become over these past few years. Oh well. We'll always have season 1.

Cheers,

Jason

Same here. This season isn't great but it's still better than the third or the sixth years.

I actually didn't think S3 was as bad as some others may have thought.

But anyway, I think of it as - while S6 was bad, this one is just plain average in every way, and that leads to pretty much no excitement, no shock, and a lot less interest on a weekly basis.

Now that the Vladamir storyline is over, over with extreme prejudice I might add, maybe we'll finally get this thing moving.

I literally gasped when Renee stabbed Jack! But of course Jack being Jack he simply pulled it out, threw it into a guys throat for good measure and patched himself up.

A half-hour later and it'll be like it never happened!

Of course the promo for next week's show looks like Jack will have a slightly different problem soon.  Ouch.

I was luke warm to a big chunk of S3 when it aired (it plays much better on DVD though) but, in all fariness, the last 1/3 or so of the season had some of the best episodes of the series with the virus being released in the hotel, Chappelle being killed by Jack, the CTU trying to find the virus before more is released, etc.

I loved season 3, for all the reasons Travis listed above and more.

I love that scene when Jack get's Saunders to talk by threatening to throw his daughter into the infected hotel..."After your daughter is infected I am gonna make you watch her die."

Was that the one where Michelle wore leather pants?

Yes. That's also another reason why that season was good.

Season 3 was always my least favorite until season 6 came along.....after than S3 looked absolutely brilliant. It's still my second least favorite of the seven full seasons, but it might move up a notch after this year depending on how things go.

I'm on the fence.  A part of me is ready to bail, but another part of me keeps saying you've already a quarter through and its bound to get better....

Well I am in the process of watching all the seasons to date, as well as watching season 8 on a weekly basis. I missed some episodes along the way and am just putting together the whole set since I really enjoy it. Seaon 8 has been a little slow, but I don't think it is terrible either. In my opinion all of the seasons have some slow times as well, but the concept of the show is what makes me like it so much. I am in Law Enforcement as well so the action shows get my attention, and this one actually hits a lot of worries from real and actual threats. I know we don't want to ever see any of Jacks days play out like on the show, but they are really there.

When the show started I believe that is what gave it its big viewing audience. Since then it has slowwed but not near stopped. I still enjoy it and think they are still going to succeed at least 1 or 2 more seasons. At least I hope so, I guess I am just a faitful Bauer FAN!!!

Welcome aboard, Sparks.

When you finish season 6 be sure to watch the season 7 prequel movie 24 Redemption.

I haven't watched this week's episode yet, and just haven't had the desire to watch it.  I will continue to let the DVR record them and I imagine at some point I'll just roll through them (even if I fast forward through most of it).

I was thinking, I think the biggest problem with this season is that there doesn't seem to be any real imminent threat like there usually is.  I mean, yeah, there is weapons grade plutonium on U.S. soil that is not in the government's control (is that good or bad? )...but there just doesn't seem to be that feeling of urgency that even the worst seasons of '24' have had.  It might be in my head but I really get the feeling that even the actors are just going through the motions and realize what a debacle this season is.  Even when Kiefer does his, "The following takes place between..." it seems he's bored out of his mind.  (I'm tellin ya...pay attention to it next time! )  Of course I realize those could be the same ones that were recorded for season 1.
Nope, can't be from season 1, because that explicitly mentions "on the day of the California presidential primary" and "Events occur in real-time."

Now, season 2, on the other hand...

(And yes, I'm fully aware they could've just cut it down to what it is now, but seems more likely they'd just re-record it.)

I saw an interview with Sutherland one time where he said that he would record 'The following takes place between...' for every episode until sometime in the third season when he said to the people recording the ADR, "Hey guys, don't we have these already?"

Well, it took a full 1/3 of the season, but we finally got an episode that was entertaining from start to finish. That's the first one this year that's felt like old school, kick ass 24 and I enjoyed it immensely.

Definitely a good episode. There was even a strip (tease) club.
Yeah, I thought it was good, though not great tonight.  But hey, maybe we'll get lucky and they'll be able to continue with this momentum that finally seemed to build just a little.

... Though parts of the episode were practically a commercial for the Pre.

Great how those guys go right to the Nudie after their score and when Starbuck tells them to go away, he just says "That's not gonna happen" I'm starting to like these two.

Excellent ep tonight, Jack was kicking ass all over that restaurant, when he threw that table I quipped John McClane-style "Do you have a reser...VATION!!!!??" Crash!

There was also some Lethal Weapon in there with the shock torture and breakin of the dude's neck lol.

I know nothing about cell phones so that product placement was lost on me. I defend product placement to some degree though because real life is inundated with corporate logos. No one drinks 'BEER' brand beer or has 'Phone' cell phones. That being said, I know the only reason the logo/product is showing up onscreen is because the company paid Fox money.

Good to know.  As a West Coaster I dropped in to see if it was worth watching tonight

It seems as if there's finally a light at the end of this tunnel...

And I just love Jack looking perfectly fine by episode's end--regardless of being tortured with electricity and having a goon stick a finger in his knife wound!    THAT never gets old!

He's got those regenerative powers that ONLY Jack Bauer could have.
