I got caught up with all 7 seasons of this staggering and exhausting show over the summer and am primed and set to see Jack return to provide the morgue with more business.

I'm not even going to watch the trailer, I want to go into it completely blind.

There doesn't seem to be anything too revelatory in there. Unlike the commercials for S7 that showed Tony back from the dead.

Check this out, guys, it's a montage of pretty much everyone Jack has ever killed lol...

That video is AWESOME!!!

I think it's funny that after S3, Jack will kill more people in one action-heavy episode than he did in the entire first season.

And say what you will about the sixth season but Jack biting that guy's throat out and killing all the guys with the nuclear bomb are pretty cool scenes.

Do you realize that in just 7 days Jack Bauer has killed more people than Jason in all of the Friday the 13th movies combined?
Jack's been naughty this year, looks like it's coal in his stocking...

Love the Santa interrogation.

On a flight home this past week one of the DirecTV channels
was showing a behind-the-scenes look at 24: Season Eight.

From what I briefly caught....

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
The gameshow host from SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE appears
this season.

Jack's daughter arrives in NY with a baby in her arms

Check out this poster for day 8...

Sweet!

Still debating whether I'll watch this or just wait for the DVDs.  I suppose in the end it will be Sunday and I'll be too curious to resist.
i am surprised they didn't do like they have in recent seasons and released the first four eps on dvd.

Was there a bridge episode on the last DVD set like they've done in the past?

Nope.

Well, it looks like Kiefer has ruined the Jack Bauer mystique completely after that appearance on Letterman.   OMG, I'm dying laughing at that segment -- the best Anti-gambling argument ever.   I'll give him credit for paying up on that bet.
I have to wonder if that bet was even real or more of a publicity stunt.  My guess is the latter.
Hooray, Jack is back tonight!  And then tomorrow night for its customary 4-hour kick-off to each season.
Yes sir! Bauer's back! It'll be my first season watching as it runs.

The show will probably seem alot slower since you have to wait week to week to see episodes. Or at least, that's a very common complaint with 24 (or Lost or other serialized shows) when people come off watching all the previous seasons on DVD.
Oh yeah, I'm expecting that. It will suck having commercials and waiting week to week etc but there's no way I'll be able to hold off until the DVD's.

I hope the guy who came up with the idea of Jack using a fire ax to kill someone gets a raise.
Well, in all fairness, Jack kills so many people that it was probably inevitable that he would use an axe one day lol.

Loved the premiere!

It did my heart good to see him at rest and at play with his granddaughter in his first scenes, the weight of the world off his shoulders finally.

But it wouldn't be 24 if the shit didn't hit the fan and land squarely in Jack's face in a hurry so we knew that wouldn't last long.

The new CTU looked damn spiffy, kudos to the production team this year so far.
I had never watched 24 on tv. About 3-4 months ago, my wife's brother-in-law loaned me the first four seasons on dvd. Needless to say, I was hooked. I got season five from Netflix, and season six is in my queue. Then season seven is on blu ray, which will also come from Netflix. I'm still not going to watch it on tv each week. Reason being, I don't think my nerves would take waiting a week, until the next episode. I'll see season eight like I did all the others.

Too bad he's dead

But seriously, we still have the problem that no one listens to Jack after he's saved the world like 8 times.
Man, that was a two hour bore-fest.  Worst '24' season premiere I can remember.

One of the funniest lines of the night from the new tech guy: " Who's Jack Bauer?", you would think by this point they would have erected a statue in the lobby!

Yeah I thought that was pretty lame actually.  I know in the past he was the "government's best kept secret", but that all went out the window last season with those newscasts that mentioned him by name.  So I would think even the average citizen knows who Jack Bauer is at this point.

That was good and I liked when Jack said "I hate this place" when he was about to get pulled back into the CTU world.

The look he got from Prinze like he was a complete moron was pretty good.
