 Hello All, I am new to this forum, so please excuse if I break etiquette in posting my question


I just purchased and set up a Sony DAV-HDX589W. 

No sound in rear speakers when playing a DVD. The speakers work in calibration process, or if I turn on a surround effect like Pro Logic so I know the hardware hookups are all okay. However, almost immediately after I insert a Dolby Digital 5.1 DVD, the rear speakers appear to lose communication with the main unit and no sound outputs. 

Any help would be appreciated...
