New iMac thread, please post thoughts/experiences here - Page 3

Ronald - glad you replied.  You are one of the people that has helped nudge me into going with a mac.  I was wondering if you considered your setup overkill.  :)  But...it makes sense why you went with more ram.

I definitely will get iWork or Office 2008.  I am comfortable with office, but obviously have not had the chance to use iWork before.

I have never used roxio toast before.  I have always used itunes to burn cds.  What am I missing out on.   I never bothered with burning dvds on my current computer due to the fact the 80gigs of memory has been almost maxed out for as long as I can remember.

Thank you for your help.

Jon,

If you are just burning music then iTunes will
probably suit your needs fine.

I like Roxio because it is the swiss army knife
of burning programs.  You can burn most anything
with it and it's interface is very simplistic.

Who knows if you will need the program or not?

Those who buy more powerful computers tend to
be more creative and thus need more elaborate
programs to assist with their projects.
