Appliance vibration dampers?

My home theater is in the basement and unfortunately right below our room with our washer and dryer. When they are running, the sound can be heard pretty well downstairs. The fortunate thing is the buzzer on the dryer cannot be heard. I wanted to get some advice on possible vibration dampers or something to that effect. Another reason I need to address this is because the vibrations have caused a crack in our ceiling! It's a hairline crack, but it runs the entire length of the drywall seam.

That's a toughie.

The only thing that comes to mind is getting some neoprene and making a thick pad out of it, and putting some of it under each "foot" of the machines.  The old thick mouse-pads (~¼" or ~6mm thick squishy foam), two or three layers, might work.  Might.

Thanks for the tip. That is a good solution. A company makes some pads that do exactly what I'm looking for, but after having the room built, funds are low. So, I may look into cheaping out on this fix.

BTW, we just had the crack in the ceiling fixed. It may not even be an issue in the future, but at least it looks good for the time being.

well, do keep the mouse-pads in mind.  Particularly if you can get close to the IT group at work or something like that...
