You won't be sorry.  Pixar has yet to produce a clunker (although that's certainly up for debate...and usually is debated about every day here on the HTF! ).  And their home video releases are second-to-none!

That's quite an understatement. It's more like they have yet to produce a non-masterpiece. I don't think there's been a studio in the history of cinema that has had this kind of track record. Keep 'em coming.

I'm having a situation where my list of subscribed threads on my homepage are not listed in chronological order from the most recent posting.  Below is a sampling in which you can see that the times of the most recent posts are all over the place.  One thread...which had a post just a couple hours old, was dropped all the way down to the third page.

Signed on this morning and my subscribed threads are even further out-of-whack.  Looks as if they aren't "bubbling up" at all and are staying where they were starting at a particular point-and-time,

First example:  This very thread.  I posted in it last night and to find it in my subscribed thread list I had to look several pages down where you will see it listed among threads which haven't been posted in for a few days:

Here's what the top of my list looked like this morning--all turned on its ear:

I'm also finding that I can only press the "MORE" button eight times (to display nine pages of subscribed threads).  Once I push "MORE" a ninth time the button either disappears or I keep getting a rotating "loading" circle with no more threads displayed.

We only keep the last 100 items in your feed, so you're coming to the end of it. It's a lot of data to carry for each user for an infinite number of updates

Am I correct in assuming that I'm not unique with this problem?  I'm a little surprised there's not more people here posting about it.

While I understand that,...it's got me thinking.

If that's the case, if someone posts in a thread that can't be found in my "last 100 items"...and if those threads don't get re-ordered on their own after this problem is fixed...how will I ever know that a new post has been made in that thread?

For example, I posted in a thread this morning that was originated in 2003 and was last active in 2005--except for a couple of posts just before mine.  The way things are right now, I can only imagine how many pages down on my list of subscribed threads that must be.

Even this very thread is several pages down on my list.

If someone posts in an old thread to which you're subscribed, it will pop up to the top of the feed, so you'll see it there... am I missing something?
That's the problem I'm describing in Posts #182 & 183.

Such threads are not going to the top of my subscribed thread list on my home page.  My threads are all "stuck" in the same place.  When new posts are made to them, they stay where they are.  FOr example, you just posted to this thread (as I will do when I click the "submit" button) and this thread will stay on Page Four of my list.  Threads are NOT moving to the top with new activity.

So do my questions in #186 now make more sense?  They are:  am I the only one with this problem?  And, how will I ever know if someone has posted in a thread which is not currently in my "last 100 items" (that is IF the new posts that occurred during this window of brokenness don't work on bringing them to the top after it's fixed)?
Looks like things are fixed...
And...everything has sorted itself out as far as proper ordering...regardless of when the most recent posts were made.

Thanks.

For what its worth. There seems to be an error. On my homepage,  when I have  "subscriptions only" and click on "more" I get 18 items but I have only 17 which is the correct number as seen on "edit the subscriptions". I never subscribed to " Hawaii Five-O DVD collection"  . Also just now, it sometimes takes 2 or more minutes when I click on "more"
Have you explicitly unsubscribed from Hawaii Five-O DVD Collection? Or is there simply nothing to unsubscribe from?

If you could roll over the content block in the feed and take a screen shot, that would be very helpful. The tag that pops up on the lower left of the content block should show you the tag or item you're subscribed to that's putting the dvd in your feed. If you've subscribed to other tags to which this dvd collection was associated, they will appear in your feed.

When you mouse over the item, what comes up as the "subscription" for why that DVD is appearing?

I will attemp a screen shot this weekend. I know how to get the JPG but from there to this forum - I will have to research  on that.

Perhaps also an error, when I click "more" it took over 3 minutes- I eventually return to previous page and came back and clicked "more".

When I move the mouse over - this is what I get;
Hawaii Five-O DVD collection

I have an earlier subscription  to "Jerry Beck ,,,"

Apologies for that!  I've reported the issue to the engineering team and they'll be digging into it to see what's going on.  Thanks for the info.  Very helpful!

See how in the lower left on the Oppo block after "subscriptions" it has Oppo-BDP-83 in blue? what does it say when you roll over Hawaii Five-O update?

I will repeat this again, your special characters I have removed. Not displaying is the important part:

No screenshot required... I get it now, thanks! Cristina has already reported the issue to our team.
A Question - this may have caused the error BUT what if I wish to set a thread as a subscription that has ALREADY been set. Do you take care of that case? I don't need an answer.
If you've already subscribed to a thread and you click subscribe again when viewing the thread, it won't cause any problem. In the feed, on threads you've subscribed to, you would see a small red X next to the subscription, and you could unsubscribe by clicking the X.

Sumner:  If you have the desirerd .jpg file on your hard drive and you want to insert it into a post...it's easy.

When in the text box, simply click on the little yellow square above the text box (which looks like it has a picture of a mountain & sun in it).  There you'll get a dialogue box.  Click "browse"...find the file on your hard drive...click "open"...then click "OK".  And, voila!  The image should be in your post!  Hope it works for you.

And the HTF software hosts the image for you, so no worries.

Mike

AAAAAAArgh!

There is a problem--again--with the "activity stream."  Even though my home page says the "Subscriptions Only" button is active, it seems as if ALL threads are showing in my subscribed thread list!

Normally I would have a screen capture for you sitting here to illustrate my point, but I am getting this error message instead:

Quote:
move_uploaded_file(/var/www/html/static.hometheaterforum.com/pub/imgrepo/d/d1/HTF Prob with subscribed list.jpg) [<a href='function.move-uploaded-file'>function.move-uploaded-file</a>]: failed to open stream: Permission denied

And, of course, since the "MORE" button only allows for nine page adds...I can't be certain I'm even seeing all of my subscribed threads with new posts in them.

I'm getting this problem also since late last night sometime after midnight.  At first, I just thought my IE6 browser went a little whacky, but a system reboot and some 8 hours later didn't solve the problem.

I have the same problem, too.  I just got on and my subscriptions are not listed even though  "show only subscriptions" is checked.  If I go click on My Profile, then I can see my subscriptions.  But that's not the way it's suppose to work.

You guys are not alone, and it isn't IE6. The same thing started for me around the same time last night, and I use IE 8. I hoped it was a temporary glitch, but obviously not.
Still getting that error message when I try to post an image...
I am also having alot of new entries "subscription only" which includes "Buying a BMW"; "Sharp AQUOS LCC4677UN 46-inch 1080p LCD HDTV (120Hz, 5 HDMI inputs) = $888 shipped"; "
2009 TRACK THE TV EPISODES YOU WATCH" etc etc. I also get no subscription info like before when I move my cursor over my actual subscription. I quess Huddler must have made another (untested) update again!
It's showing all threads, probably per most recent activity. Also in Firefox 3 on Mac and PC, so it's an HTF-side thing and not a browser thing.

Probably a minor bug that got goofed with new upgrades. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.
