aluminum cone vs kevlar cone

What is the difference between an aluminum cone and a kevlar cone? Which should I buy? The speakers I'm looking at come in both, they are the same price.

What are the pros/cons of aluminum and kevlar cones?

There is nothing better or worse about aluminum, kevlar, carbon fiber, paper, hemp or any other speaker cone material.  Each has different characteristics that the speaker designer chooses when building his speaker.  It all depends on his goals.

Are you saying it is the SAME speaker that comes with either aluminum or kevlar drivers?  If so, that just sounds like a gimmick and I would stay away from them entirely.

 Exactly the same. However, the speakers are on closeout and I'm on a budget, so they're very tempting.....

At that price and quality it doesn't make a difference.  Pick the one that look neat to you.
