RIP Capt. Lou Albano

Thread Starter
WWE Hall of Famer Captain Lou Albano, 76, passed away today, only hours after the Miami Herald reported that he was at home with his family under hospice care.

Everyone should also remember him from Cyndi Lauper's The Goonies R Good Enough music video.

He was also at the crossroads of the "Rock-n-Wrestling" campaign that helped launch the WWE into the stratoshphere back in the '80's and helped make Cyndi Lauper even bigger along with the likes of Mr. T, Hulk Hogan, and Roddy Piper.  Captain Lou Albano and Classy Fred Blassy are now both gone.

For the slightly younger of us who grew up during the late 80s/ early 90s:

He was also the live-action Mario.

When I saw him on TV my eyes were always fixated on the rubber band hanging off his left cheek.

Isn't that the truth about the rubber band?  Did he ever explain what that thing was for or represented?  I thought I heard something one time, but I just can't remember.
