MARANTZ SR-96 NEED OPINIONS!!

I believe this is an old unit..my dad had purchased this a while back...i dont know much but it has an LD setting and some older functions?
QUESTIONS
is it any good to todays amps?
Should I replace it with something better?
if so how much should I sell it for...
Im looking for a decent set up any suggestions? not looking to spend too much...SPEAKERS and everything
Just have a 50" plasma
Karaoke machine
Blue ray
Paradigm center channel
no speakers

Looks to date back to 1999 or so. Probably couldn’t get $100 for it, since it doesn’t appear to have a built-in Dolby Digital decoder. 
 
Normally I’d say get something newer, but since it looks like your budget is limited and you don’t even have any speakers, I’d spend money on those first. The Marantz will at least get you Dolby Pro Logic surround sound from DVDs, which is much more satisfying than what you’d get from a new Dolby Digital receiver and a single speaker.
