Flat panel that does OK with standard def material

Thread Starter
I am looking for a flat panel TV that does OK with standard def signals (primarily satelite TV Nintendo Wii, and DVD).  42-46", say $1300 tops.  Viewing angle is going to be a big issue so I am thinking plasma.

How much difference will I notice between one set and another on SD material?  Is it really that noticable?

Thanks,

Mark

The BD player itself makes the major difference. HD players upscale DVDs in such an awesome way.

Avoid 50Hz LCD if you want to play games or watch anything with any kind of movement, they don't cope with that at all. Most LCDs still have problems representing movement. Plasma all the way.

LCDs however look better in brightly lit rooms, or rooms where you can't control ambient light. But my plasma still looks better than my old lcd in whatever lighting becuase it can handly movement and represents colours better.

hi
if viewing angles is at all an issue, then you have to go with plasma.
Panasonic and Samsung make good units.

Good luck
