"Chuck" Season 3 - Page 6

Amazing episode.  Truly enjoyable.  Interesting to see where the "cliffhanger" goes.

Terrific episode, but it enters the show into risky territory; there's always the danger that pretty much everyone will know Chuck's secret at some point and take away the plausibility of his dual life. I think the show's aware of this, thus Awesome's breakdown.

My favorite scene was Chuck and Morgan tied up back to back and Chuck finally letting it all out: "It all started two and a half years ago when I received an email from Bryce Larkin..."

There's also the risk that the shows goes on for a few more seasons, and people start to complain about how stale and boring the whole "secret life" thing has become.  I can easily see members of this forum complaining about that very fact.

Morgan is da man!  He kicked ass six ways to Sunday!   Loved his Indiana Jones like entrance into the OO!

He had so many great lines I don't know where to start and the cat meow he made when he bumped into the Castle Wall corridor.  lol  But the coup de grace was his Ewok jab at the bad guy to make sure his was really out.

Great episode!

Yes, this episode makes up for the last couple that really didn't do it for me. It's good to have Morgan back in the mix as more than just an accessory, and Chuck's "blockage" actually made sense. Looking forward to rewatching this on Wednesday!

And I forgot to mention "Jeffster".  It was good to see them back in action.  Oh and the flag of Iwo Jima!  Holy cow that had me in stitches!  There were so many good parts in this show I could go on and on.

I do have a question though.  What movie or TV show was that from when Big Mike yells out "Victory!"?  I know I've heard that before.

I'm pretty sure that was simply referrencing V-J Day, what with the kiss and all.

Thought there was a subtle reference to Braveheart with Big Mike's speech, "They'll never take away...".

Chuck didn't seem to care, but the most shattering thing was the revelation to Morgan that the relationship with Sarah was mostly a lie (he cares that it's a lie, but not that Morgan knows it (as far as we saw)).  I'd be quick to point out that she did feel the same way, but they each kept throwing up barriers for both good and not so good reasons.

Yep. As much as I love the show, I want it to end within the next 2 or 3 seasons. I'd much rather see it go out with a bang than a whimper. I hope McG and Co. are thinking about that.

I want to see it become a 10-season Smallville extravaganza!

There are ways to add to the longevity of the show without relying on the same old setup. Carefully crafted character development along with some shifts in the situation could work. It already looks like Elli and Awesome are on their way out, now that Morgan is in on the secret, how long until the rest of Buy More knows?

Can you imaging if Jeff and Lester became spies?
That's getting into nuking the fridge territory for me.
If anything the show will go the other way.  The BuyMore days are numbered in my estimation.

Great episode tonight, assuming things don't immediately return to the status quo. Relationships we thought were departing prove to be on more stable ground than first appeared, and other ones are on much rockier ground. It's always a risk when a show pulls the curtain back on a mysterious character, since whatever it comes up with is usually less interesting than the mystery. But giving John Casey a family changes everything we know him, makes us realize that he has sacrificed everything Chuck has and more -- without any of Chuck's complaining or second guessing. Chuck hasn't had to give up watching his daughter grow up. Meanwhile, Chuck nearly choking the guy to death shook Sarah to the core, so much so that she's considering giving up Operation Bartowski. The waters have definitely been muddied.

Great dramatic episode tonight and a fine Casey story.  The sacrifices he has had to make, while listening to Chuck whine and Sarah pine must have irritated him to no end.  Their situations pale in comparison to the choices John has made.  Wonderful exploration of all characters tonight.

Glad to see that Awesome is regaining some of his "Awesomeness".  Laughed out loud at Awesome and Morgan's meeting.

On a side note, did not miss Shaw at all.

I have not watched tonight's episode yet; but, it is my belief that Adam Baldwin as Casey is what makes this show.  I might not watch it if he were not on it.  (Oh, OK, I would probably still watch it for the hot Australian chick!)

Another great episode.  I don't really know what else anyone could possibly ask of this show.  In my opinion, it delievers on pretty much every level: action, humour, emotion, dialogue, acting.  All while retaining an honesty about it--especially on the emotion front.

Since I don't read spoilers, I literally have no idea where they are going right now.  And that's lower-case awesome.  I'm with you, Josh.  This is on track to be my favorite show of all-time.  Hyperbole?  Maybe, but it's the truth for me.  Good call on honest emotions.  That's one of the things that always attracted me to this show.  While most other shows resort to snarkiness--especially when it comes to the homefront--I have always loved the relationship Chuck has with Ellie.  And, when he and Sarah or he and Hannah (even throw in Morgan) get together with Ellie and Devon for dinner, it's always heartfelt and real.

Did I miss the Buy More crew tonight?  No.  But, that's because I love how the show can switch gears effortlessly.  They'll probably be back next time, and it'll be great.

Great episode. Game changers in place at the end for Chuck, Casey, Sarah, Ellie and Devon.  Quite a nifty feat.

The role reversal continues with Sarah starting the conversation and then cutting Chuck off.  A typical Lost moment.   :)

Great debut writing effort by the newbies.  Congrats!

I noticed the parallels between Casy and Chuck in their respective fights.  Casey did not stop when Sarah entered, but Chuck did.  Are there other parallels to be drawn.  Was Casey like Chuck and slowly turned into the cold person he appears to be?  Does Casey feel sympathy for what Chuck is experiencing?

Does Chuck want to be like Casey and take a pill before every mission to be the"perfect spy"?

Interesting thoughts I had after I digested the episode.  Another reason I like this show.

My question is, how long is the pill supposed to last?  That wasn't made real clear last night. We apparently saw a short term affect on Chuck at the ex-fiancee's house, but Chuck kinda seemed back to normal later. BTW that fight between Chuck and the baddies was, again, great, with Chuck improvising with whatever he could get his hands on.

If there's one thing about this show it is very good at making you want to tune in next week to find out what the curve ball is going to be. It is hard to top last week's installment, but this one was pretty good, although I would have like to see the Casey storyline unfold a bit slower, and it was a pretty well used situation. The fallout was interesting, but I bet Casey is back early in the next episode. Only 3 more eps until the original 13 is done, I'm expecting a pretty major cliffhanger coming...

He is a big part of it.  I guess I am so used to seeing Chuck on the edge of being cancelled I kept thinking throughout the episode that everyone was leaving/being let go to cut costs!   Looking forward to next week!

Man, this show's been great television lately. It just keeps building and building. Great Casey moments the two episodes.

The man who shot Hunter Perry
He shot Hunter Perry
He was the bravest of them all

I think if this show lasts two months or two years, Chuck will get out of it never having intentionally killed anyone.  I don't know that that's fair.  Sometimes, his life or the mission will depend on it, and I guess he'll always make someone else have to live with the killing.  Maybe he should unintentonally kill someone and have to work through that, or have a situation where it is up to him alone to kill to save someone like Ellie's life and something happens--a toilet seat from the Mir hits the guy--right at the moment he is going to pull the trigger, and he is left to wonder whether he would have done it.

I am enjoying this season but don't like the Shaw character at all. Bradon is as stiff in this role as he was as Superman.
Ashame that the ratings continue to be low. That does not bode well for a new season.
At the moment, Chuck is in a strange place, chances-wise.  On one hand, the ratings have been trending slightly down--unless you include the PVR numbers--despite these episodes being some of the best of the series.  On the other hand, the ratings are *that* terrible when compared to the rest of NBC's lineup, and the network is sinking fast.  Do you bring back Chuck, just to have *some* viewers, in hopes of shuffling them onto new/similar shows?  Or do you can it, and pretty much start the next season's lineup from scratch (excluding a few comedies like Community)?

My guess--and it's only a guess--is that Chuck and Heroes will both be back.  NBC will want *something* to market in places like Comicon and the like.  Perhaps a new night will be in order though.  Wednesdays is looking a little bleak these days...
