I have been waiting a long time for a release of Pagan love Song.  I like the film and knew there were a lot of filmed outtakes that survived for this picture.

The new transfer is great picture wise but the sound is not up to par for a 1950 film,  not a very crisp high end.

There are seven outtakes and they are great to have, but I wish Warners had gone an extra step on two of the outtakes.

One is - Why is Love so Crazy - sung by Esther williams.  This is the same outtake previously on a laserdisc set.   Esther sings with piano only.  However, Warners DOES have the orchestra track.  If I've got, they certainly must.   Once that is added it should be connected to Howard Keels version of the song that is in the film.  It was meant ot be one long number.

Two - Esther sings Sea of the Moon - fantasy version.   This should be connected to the footage that is still in the ilm.   In the movie, Esther jumps in the water and swims with Howard Keel, while Howards voice on the soundtrack sings Pagan Love Song.   Originally this footage had a large chorus sing a second verse of sea of the Moon.  This should be edited with the current outtake to create the original number.
