Thread Starter
Hi all,
I am pretty much a newbie here,I got the Klipsch HD 1000 as a gift and now i am too confused in picking up a amp/receiver for it.I also own a Samsung LN40B650.I found a lot of useful threads that led me to a few options in Onkyo and Denon, but really i do not want to make a decision before i got some opinion on what would be a best suit for the Klipsch HD 1000, bear with me if my post is navie where i dont ask questions about specific amps/receivers models,

The Klipsch HD 1000 specs are here.

Any inputs , suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Looking at the spec sheet that system has an SPL (Sound Pressure Level) of "114 peak" which is very high meanning you don't need a lot of power to get a lot of volume. There are other things I noticed about the Klipsch 1000 but they aren't very flattering so I'll keep them to myself.

You need to tell us what your budget is and how large the room is. Denon and Onkyo are popular around here because they include Audyssey Room Correction. Other brands have their own proprietary automatic setup/eq program. Pioneer has MCACC, Yamaha has YAPO, H/K has EzSet/Eq. They all work to various degrees of effectiveness with Audyssey regarded as the better of the bunch.

If a BluRay dvd player is in the mix then you want a receiver that has HDMI 1.3a (repeater, not switching). This will allow it to decode the new hi-resolution audio found on most BluRay discs.
