That is a terrible piece of advertisement. It won't do the company any good either.

But this seems to be a two-pronged situation here, Cees.

We know the ad is bad.  But why does it keep "getting through" to the HTF?  Won't this be the third or fourth time the Huddler folks have "banned it?"

We are working on getting them removed from the ad servers.

Hi guys - I have pulled the Stoli Elit ads (again) and sent the network an earful for the terrible design of the ad and for putting them in rotation when we asked them not to. Thanks for the heads up!

It should take about 30 minutes to come down FYI. I'll check back regularly and you can expect a bit more detail from Adam Farren. Thanks guys.

The Elit ads are already gone for me. Thanks, Dan!
Yep. Looks like it's gone. I hope it stays gone for good. Good, bloody, riddance.

Not here for me now...

Interestingly, when I got frustrated with the Elit ads here yesterday, I went over to AVS and guess what.... Elit ads there too... slowing their site to a crawl.

I was lucky I didn't get the elit ads, even the annoying Samsung birds have flown away (I almost miss em, almost). So for the time being no annoying ads at all. Refreshing.

And back again...
Now under the name of "Glenlivet". Not equally bad, but much like it.  This is really getting ridiculous!

At least 87% CPU load on my "old" pc! And I actually have two of them (one above, one on the right).
We need a thorough exterminator, it seems.

Sorry, guys, but is is being worked on (again!).

Sigh.  Glenlivet here today, too.
Hehehe, is anyone else thinking "Glen-livid"?

It's back......again. One thing that Elit ad does is to remind me not to buy Stolichnya Vodka anytime in the foreseeable future.
It is indeed...

I guess Dan's gonna have to fill somebody's other ear now...

Here's an "action" shot of my Firefox status bar waiting...and waiting...and waiting...

I feel sorry for the guy, because it appears he can't get them to listen.

That thing is slowing things up so much that my laughing smiley looks like it is a refugee from that movie "Wanted".

They're back for me too.

And for me as well.

Wow.  The ads are still here.

Then it really doesn't make any sense for me to be here either right now.

It took me three tries and several minutes just to get this "REPLY" box to show up.

Absolutely horrendous.

My CPU has bogged down so much since I got here just now that the interface can't even keep up with my typing speed.

Can't something be done?
Unbelievable.  The Elit ads are still here and slowing things to a crawl, AGAIN.  Sadly, I think it's time for me to take a break from HTF again.
They appear to sort of forcing themselves in. In the past that was done by periodically changing some of the parameters (like the URL), so it couldn't be filtered out.
Now I don't know.

The one at the top (next to the HTF logo) seems gone, but the one at the upper right is still doing it's devastating "work".

And somehow it also breaks the rotation scheme that's supposed to be in place, because this made-by-a drunken-developer-thing is there ALL THE TIME, once it's back!

(Be sure it's got the attendance of the persons minding this forum. But this fight simply appears to be tougher than everybody anticipated at first.)

My CPU is pegged and and I can't move - so I'm out of here also.
that ad isn't doing any damage for me. I actually never saw the ad, because I apparently had  adlock plus running, so I turned it off for htf just to see if the ad popped up.
It did just now.

So no slow down for me, don't know why.

What are you running Firefox, IE8 or something else?
latest firefox on a macbook
Are Huddler staff aware of this latest instance, Cees?  Do they need us members to alert them?

Is anything being done?
Mike, are you ok?
I guess the ad is working.....its driving us all to drink.  Like some ads in the past it just won't die.  We have tried the conventional methods to no avail.  Parker is sharpening sticks, I am melting down silver to make bullets and Ron is trying to track down some holy water.  Wish us luck!
I have a better solution....  =)

Thanks, Adam.

I volunteer to boil the tar...if anyone's got a bunch of feathers they want to donate...
