I need some Speakers for Denon AVR-1910

I am trying to build a home theater system.

I think I have already deceided on the Receiver - I am going to go with the Denon AVR-1910

I have no idea about the speakers.  Can someone suggest speakers to go with this.  Are there any package set that are any good. or individual speakers that I can put together.  My speaker budget is about $500-$700 right now.

if you think I should go with a different received let me know that too.

Thanks in advance for your help you can provide.

I'm not familiar with the Denon but most of us spend our money on better speakers and go with a less expensive receiver.  But if that one has the features you are looking for then get it.

What size room are you putting these speakers in?  Do you want 5.1 or 7.1?  Are you a bass nut like some of us?  Because you can easily spend double your budget on just the sub if you really want to reproduce explosions in action movies.

Hi Tom, Robert,

I'm also in a similar situation - I've chosen the Denon 1910 (possibly the 2310, if I can negotiate the price down to a 1910 level), but I'm not sure what speakers to go for.

My room is 12'x10', so fairly small, and the seating is <1' from the rear 12' wall, so I've decided to go with 5.1 at the moment.  I just happen to have speaker cabling in place for Pro Logic IIz front "height" speakers, but I've read that it doesn't give much of a performance improvement.

Anyway, my short-list of speakers at the moment are the Energy Classic range, or Polk. Does anyone have experience with the Energy Classic range and Denon 1910 or similar?

Cheers, Paul.

I have a bigger room.  it is 14x23 so I am assuming that I should go with a 7.1.   I have a 73" DLP TV on one side.  I would like a decent sub,  but I def don't need a $1000 one.

Thanks

Here is a very good set of speakers. It also comes with an excellent sub:

It runs a little more than the budget you stated ($500 - $700) though. Since this set includes a great sub, the price may work for you, if the sub wasn't supposed to be included in that budget. If sub was supposed to be included in that budget, then you may have a problem finding a decent set of speakers with a decent sub. Speakers are the most important part of a system. They are the "SOUND" of the system. Usually, the price for speakers is about 3/4 to 2/3 the total cost of a good system.
Good luck!

Thanks for the SVS recommendation, these look well worth the investment.

Drat, now I want to buy all the kit today. I was going to wait for Black Friday...

Cheers, Paul.
