The Big Bang Theory - season 3 - Page 5

Either Sheldon was trying to make Leonard mad, or it was bad writing. There is no way that someone as well versed in Sci-Fi as these guys are would say those completely erroneous things about Babylon 5.

Babylon 5 was the most well written story and best developed characters I have ever seen in a sci-fi series. At least none of the characters wore tights and a cape. Well, Londo did have a cape now and then. :)

I mean come on............ That bit just didn't make any sense.

I wasn't the least bit miffed.  Everyone knows that Sheldon is a borderline personality at best, completely incapable of understanding a show like B5.  No one takes his insane ranting seriously.

You realize you guys are sooo falling for what Lorre intended by throwing that in, right? He put that in to mess with your heads and it's working.

He succeeded in his evil plan.  LOL

I just caught up with the last 2 new episodes.

I don't see the hate for the Penny Leonard relationship, though I can see it's disrupting the foursome of the main group. I hope the writers can make something of it. And it seems to be working now they make them a foursome with Howard and his new girlfriend. The show could have done the typical and kept them apart till the end of the series and then brought them together.

Regarding the Babylon 5 crack, I noticed the comment about the Apple Genius job being a Mac user and fan. Of course that was in character with Sheldon!

Oh yeah, if anyone cares, I saw on ET that Kaley Cuoco is on the cover of Maxim.

Precisely why I don't like them together, plus Leonard has become increasingly obnoxious since getting together with Penny.

To me Leonard's pursuit of Penny was so much more fun than when he finally got her.

Yep, have that issue of MAXIM.

True that.  I guess I might be in the minority here but I think Penny/Sheldon would be more interesting and funnier.  Even if nothing comes from it, it would be interesting to see it taken their.  They just have good chemistry together (both on/off screen) which I don't get from the Leonard/Penny relationship.

Good to see Stan Lee again ... he's an icon and I love his work in comics ... but the guy simply just cannot act. Also I never realized how many double initial characters he had ...
While I liked last nights episode it could have been better, I was expecting Sheldon to fly way further off the handle at the thought of missing his chance to meet Stan Lee but he took it rather casually.

That was also damn messed up of Penny to do such a thing to Sheldon. I like the show when they play on Sheldon and poke harmless fun his way but not so much when it flat-out screws him over and no one seems to care.

Stan Lee is an awful actor, poor performer, and a thinly thatched thespian.

The double (and sometimes triple) initials were, according to Stan, a mnemonic device he needed in order to keep track of the dozens of characters in all the books he was writing a month.

Excelsior!

I lost it with Sheldon's first words in the cell, "That's my seat."

One of the funniest episodes in awhile.  I too am a proponent of more Penny and Sheldon together. Some great lines.

Agreed.  And then later we see him wedged onto the very end of the bench next to that big guy who was sitting in "his spot."

I loved that the judge was named "J. Kirby"

Also Sheldon's line at the end, "It will go perfectly with my restraining order from Leonard Nimoy."

BTW, I thought Penny did the reasonable thing.  Sheldon was the one who barged in.  Once the Stan called the cops, all bets were off.  Hell, Sheldon was already a jailbird, why should Penny let herself get a record?

I thought this Monday's episode was pretty good. We had the 4 geeks back to geeking out again over the Lord of the Ring prop ring. I particularly enjoyed how they had Penny reacting to the situation and her lines were great. One where she commented how she could find a new boyfriend on eHarmony.

Penny giving Sheldon a blackeye was quite good too.

My favorite line:

Sheldon: Wait!! Just to be clear...on three do we stand up?...or pee?

Her sudden reaction--resulting in the punch--had us all laughing out loud.

Many of the lines referencing the Ring (and it's fictional lore) were really well done.

As an aside, and in case you guys didn't know, the producers of TBBT are trying to work out a way to get Leonard Nimoy to appear in an episode next season. If there is interest, they'll work out a story.

That was classic BBT!

This show is at it's best when the guys are geeking out and this one was right up there with the season one episode 'The Nerdvana Annihilation' when the boys buy the full-scale time machine.

I found it hilarious that, among a group of geeks anyway, The One Ring really does possess seductive power.

Outstanding episode!

I just saw this past week's episode. Interesting, it wasn't that funny. Kinda predictable. Though I liked the Sim City joke I didn't see that melt down coming and it sort of felt out of character. I would have thought he'd have been doing more sci fi references.

Some shots at William Shatner and X Men.

CBS's website for TBBT doesn't have full episodes to watch? I missed last night's "The Wheaton Recurrance."

And Hulu's site re-directs to CBS.

I know it's really stupid - but to my knowledge CBS simply doesn't offer entire episodes of TBBT at all online.  Last time I missed one, I had to wait for a repeat to catch it....

If it's any consolation, while the episode was enjoyable, IMO, it wasn't as good as Wil's first guest appearance.
Thanks Jason. I've noticed the show hasn't been as funny recently. I'll wait for the repeat then.

I thought last night was a very funny episode. Sheldon's attempt at trash talking was hilarious!

"You are the Internet Explorer to my Firefox!" :)

I'm in the minority, but I've thoroughly enjoyed this season and glad they realized the show wasn't about the Penny / Leonard romantic tensions, but about Sheldon. And with that, getting Penny together with Leonard was a good move, and lets the relationships advance, instead of an increasingly forced romantic awkwardness.

And Wil Wheaton is very evil...
Oh, it's all about Sheldon.

And the surrounding players complement him nicely.  But things really start to click when Sheldon & Penny are in scenes together.

I love the ever-changing "knocking" jokes: Penny...Penny...Penny...
