TV show sets that we are likely to see/might see on DVD (Region 1) in 2010 - Page 2

Guys: looking at trends (which the studios should be doing), Disney should look at how well the X-Men animated sets are selling, and I believe they are selling very well, and proceed to release the ninties animated Spider Man as well. I think they should sell as well as the other Marvel tie in releases.

So perhaps the ninties Spider Man.

Since Paramount seems to be the only studio that's releasing classic tv material, and seems to be the only tv company concerned about fans think. We might get other releases like Legend and Jake 2.0.  People please remember I'm guessing, nothing more. I have heard nothing from anybody. Just thinking about what Paramount has in its library and who seems to be putting out stuff.

Also if I were Paramount and looking at their scifi library, I'd start thinking about Starman, because that series does have its fans.

Years ago. I used to put Fox at the top of the list. Now I think they've dropped the ball and now Paramount has it, followed by Warner Brothers, and lastly by Columbia, Universal, and Disney . . . who could stand some lessons in customer relations.

probably likely:
The Lucy Show - season 2 (I've heard TLS sold well, so I'm sure we'll see s2 sometime in 2010)
Here's Lucy - season 3 (I heard MPI plans on finishing this fairly quick so we might get 5 or even 6 to complete the series next year)

longshot list but never say never:
Facts Of Life - season 4 (I actually own 90% of the season 4-9 episodes from less than legitimate sources because I wanted to complete it so bad, but I still want the actual uncut episodes if Sony ever releases more)
Fame - season 3 (was hoping they were going to release 3 to coincide with the remake on DVD but looks like they're splitting season 1 and 2 instead, oh well...  Season 2 is a good place to stop in a way since the quality went in decline when it left NBC into syndication for s3 and season 3 is when the original cast begins to drop like flies)
SNL - season 6 (I actually would get this much-maligned set if only for the Prince performance, and the episodes hosted by Jamie Lee Curtis and Deborah Harry.  If Universal is worried about it not selling, they should combine seasons 6 and 7 together since the Doumanian and first Ebersol season together might sell well from interest)
Charlie's Angels - season 5 (only one season to go, may as well just rip the bandaid off and finish it)
Maude - season 2 (I was hoping they would release season 2 as a tribute to Bea Arthur this year, maybe next year we'll see another set)
Laverne And Shirley - season 5 (I think this will see the light of day sooner or later, it just isn't a huge priority show for CBS so they're taking their precious time.)
Life With Lucy - The Complete Series (I've actually heard it's a horrible show, but as a Lucy fan who buys all her DVD's, I'd love to have it just to complete the collection)

Since the Man From Uncle collection came out a few years ago, the Girl from Uncle might be in consideration..

With the original Mission Impossible concluding its DVD run, perhaps the 80's ABC version might come out.

Perhaps with the first Man from Atlantis movie out on Warner Archives, the three remaining tv movies and 20 or so episodes might come out next year.

Again. . these are guesses.

I am also hoping for more T.J Hooker and SWAT on dvd.

i have gave up on SWAT, since it has been a long time since the first season was released. I have my doubt the second season will ever be released unless Shout Factory takes it over.

Any word on the remaining seasons of Green Acres?

MGM is selling a lot of their catalog.  Maybe someone else will finish out Green Acres.

Hopefully from CBS Paramount Mork & Mindy The Final Season.  Although a lot of people hate this season I remember it vaguely and want to see Jonathan Winters with Robin Williams.

From Shout! probably Mr Belvedere Season Four, Room 222 Season 2, My Two Dads Season 2, Designing Women Season Three, Simon & Simon Season Four and other continued releases.

From Sony its anyone's guess.  Hopefully they'll license out more of their catalog that they're unwilling to continue or start releasing.

Like Hart to Hart: The Third Season.

I also feel SWAT season 2 is unlikely unless it changes hands. I really want Here Come's The Brides season 2. I guess we will eventually see Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea season 4, vol. 2 ??

I don't know what is more frustrating, incomplete season sets or no release at all?

I just got Rocket Robin Hood volume 1 from Canada. It is a really nice set but I will be amazed if they release 3 more installments to complete the series. In the same vane I would love to see Johnny Cipher in Dimension Zero and especially Marine Boy but Warner owns both.

I would love to see all 8 complete seasons of Alvin and the Chipmunks on single season DVD sets from Paramount Home Entertainment.
