If a thread has already been started for expected and predicted DVD releases for TV shows in 2010, can the link be posted to that thread and this one be closed please. Thank you.

Some of the TV on DVD release guesses (I stress that they are guesses only) in the list below are based on the six month rule between DVD releases (some though get released even quicker than that)....

January 2010:

Hotel: The Second Season (1984-85) (CBS DVD) (or it could be released in February 2010)

February 2010:

Simon and Simon: Season Four (1984-85) (Shout! Factory)

April 2010:

Hawaii Five-O: The Eighth Season (1975-76) (hopefully including the season premiere "Murder - Eyes Only" in it's feature length form, which it was originally aired as) (CBS DVD)

Mannix: The Fourth Season (1970-71) (CBS DVD) (all the remaining seasons I think have been digitally remastered (source: CBS Syndication Bible) so unless the third season sells poorly it's a certainty that the fourth season will be released in 2010)

Tales from the Darkside: The Third Season (1986-87) (CBS DVD) (if the second season sells well then the third season should be released in 2010)

June or July 2010:

Early Edition: Season Three (1998-99) (CBS DVD)

September (or October, if it is delayed like with the second season) 2010:

Tales from the Darkside: The Final Season (1987-88) (CBS DVD) (depends on how well the second season sells on DVD, and if the third season is released and sells well)

October 2010:

Hawaii Five-O: The Ninth Season (1976-77) (CBS DVD) (hopefully including the season premiere "Nine Dragons" in it's feature length form, which it originally aired as)

Mannix: The Fifth Season (1971-72) (CBS DVD) (similar to further above, if season 3 sells well and the same thing happens with the fourth season, then it's a certainty that the fifth season will be released in 2010)

First half of 2010:

Murder, She Wrote: The Complete Eleventh Season (1994-95) (Universal) (which will include the episode filmed with Season 10 "Amsterdam Kill")

Quincy, ME: Season Four (1978-79) (Universal) (depends on how well the third season has sold)

Second half of 2010:

Hotel: The Third Season (1985-86) (CBS DVD) (this depends though on how well the first season set sold, and if the second season is released and sells well)

Murder, She Wrote: The Complete Twelfth Season (1995-96) (Universal)

Quincy, ME: Season Five (1979-80) (Universal) (depends on how well the third season sold on DVD, and if the fourth season is released on DVD and sells well)

Sometime in 2010:

The Rockford Files: The Movie Collection - Volume 2 (Universal)

Murder, She Wrote: The Movie Collection (Universal) (I hope Universal release some of all of the four TV movies before the end of next year, depending on when Seasons 11 & 12 are released)

The Untouchables: Season 4 - Volumes 1 & 2 (CBS DVD) (including the 1991 reunion TV movie)

Hopefully, but I doubt it: (I'm very pessimistic with DVD companies/distributors)

The Equalizer: Season Two (1986-87) (Universal) (what is taking them so long to release the second season?)

Freddy's Nightmares: Season One (1988-89) (it would be a neat tie-in if Warner Brothers released both seasons in 2010, what with the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street coming out in cinemas in 2010)

Homicide: The Movie (hopefully the 2000 TV movie will be released as a separate DVD with some DVD extras)

Khan! (the Khigh Dheigh series which ran in early 1975 on CBS)

Knots Landing: The Complete Third Season (1981-82) (although to call the first two seasons on DVD "complete" is a joke)

The Law & Harry McGraw: The Complete Series (would be nice to see this released after Universal finish Murder, She Wrote. If they do, I bet they won't release it until the year after)

Law & Order: The Seventh Year (1996-97) (Universal) (there have been no new Law & Order season sets released on Region 1 in 2009. Hopefully they will release Season 7 next year with Season 8)

The Magician: The Complete Series (one of my most wanted unreleased TV shows on DVD)

Midnight Caller: Season One (1988-89) (it would be great if Warner Brothers finally get round to releasing the first season in 2010. My most wanted unreleased TV show on DVD)

The Red Shoe Diaries (still not available in season sets. Anthem Pictures were supposed to be bringing out a "Season 1" set but the plans were scrapped. Some (but not all) episodes are available as TV movies (three episodes edited into a movie) on DVD, but they're not available separate and in season sets

The Streets of San Francisco: Season 3 - Volumes 1 & 2 (CBS DVD) (if there are no music issues with the episode "Mask of Death" hopefully this season will be completely released in 2010).

I hadn't really thought about it but I think if there was ever a chance for Freddy's Nightmares to come to DVD, it's with this remake. Since there's only two seasons, they could tie the first year in with the reamke's theatrical release and the second set with the video release. Or maybe they'll go the Warner Archive route at those time frames?

I wish there was some more info about Warner Archive and any possible DVD releases. Are Warner Brothers going to a HTF chat this year?

Hopefully the last set of Voyage to the Bottom of the sea will be released.

Another one to go in the Hopefully, but I doubt it section for next year...

Hart to Hart: The Third Season (1981-82) (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment).

Absolutely! I'm hoping to see that too.

I would like to see sometime in 2010 Mork & Mindy The Fourth (& Final) Season.  With only one season left to go CBS Paramount ought to finish this up.

I think we'll also see in the first quarter Mr Belvedere Season Four (Shout!) and in the last quarter Mr Belvedere Season Five.

Season 6 of Emergency! and a collection of the tv movies of The Waltons are safe bets for a January release in my opinion.

Season Seven of Walker, Texas Ranger and Season Five of Charlie's Angels which will complete these two series.

Astronomical Longshot, what else? Batman

tvshowsondvd.com is reporting a "folks we trust" rumor of a possible 2010 release of "When Things Were Rotten".

Me too. I've been waiting a while to see Season 3 on dvd. Robert Wagner said it was coming soon when he and Stefanie Powers were on Graham Norton but I have a feeling he wasn't too sure either. Fans in the audience seem to be very anxious for this too.

I think they will keep with the one year schedule, and hopefully the rest of the series will continue to come out with no music replacement or edits.

Speaking of which, Monday I had recorded another marathon block of episodes on Syfy HD, and while watching "Hot Time in the Old Town", the original Rod Serling ending was shown.  CBS could include it as an extra in either the Season 3 or 4 set (so fans could be able to own both versions).  I wonder if they were able to secure "Time Has Come Today" for these syndicated broadcasts.  I'll be on the lookout when Syfy airs Season 4, starting with "Take Me Out to the Ballgame".

Depending on the sales of Season 3 -- in other words, if there's no music fiasco -- I'd expect Season 4 of "The Fugitive" to come out. Of course, if there's another music fiasco and sales as a result tank, fuhgettabout it!

I do see some titles I am collecting in the above list but would like to see many more. Dvd releases have really diminished, it's sad. I know a lot of the older shows are already  out but I still would like to see the rest, plus finishing series- Voyage  to the Bottom of the Sea to name only one.

Forgot to add...

Sometime in 2010:

The Muppet Show: The Fourth Season (1979-80)

Hopefully, but I doubt it:

Diagnosis: Murder: Season Four (1996-97) - Mike Connors reprised his role of Joe Mannix in the episode "Hard-Boiled Murder".

Interesting "Mannix" info.  I'm a big Mannix fan but didn't know about this one.

The story from an early episode of Mannix's seventh season, called "Little Girl Lost", was resumed in the Diagnosis: Murder episode "Hard-Boiled Murder". Along with Mike Connors some of the guest stars from the Mannix episode reprised their roles in the Diagnosis: Murder episode.

Barring any problems, we now know that we'll definitely see Boris Karloff's THRILLER: THE COMPLETE SERIES later next year, and THE NEW ADVENTURES OF MIGHTY MOUSE: THE COMPLETE SERIES in early January, 2010.

Depending on sales, of course, I expect we'll see these releases sometime in 2010:

THE FUGITIVE: SEASON 4, VOLS. 1 & 2 (perhaps they'll do the color season as a single set)
THE UNTOUCHABLES: SEASON 4, VOLS. 1 & 2
VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA: SEASON 4, VOL. 2
ROUTE 66: SEASON 4, VOLS. 1 & 2 (and as a single set)
ONE STEP BEYOND: THE OFFICIAL 2ND SEASON
ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS: SEASON 5

Just a wild guess on my part, with no corroborating info, but it wouldn't surprise me if DRAGNET (1960s), LEAVE IT TO BEAVER and/or RAWHIDE were somehow un-stalled next year, though perhaps with the former two Universal properties released through a second party, like Shout Factory or Image. Also MAVERICK, though as either a Time-Life "complete series" set, or else as a series of Warner Archive DVD-Rs.

Longshots, but not necessarily impossible:

THE WESTERNER (1960) --If VCI's license of the "Four Star" library extends to this, it'd be a no-brainer for them, and good prints of the episodes were made and shown on Encore Westerns a few years back.

CORONET BLUE (filmed in 1965, aired in 1967) --Unless I'm missing something, this short-lived cult show belongs to CBS/Paramount. Though not listed in the CBS syndication bible, at least 2 episodes ("The Rebels" and "Six Months to Mars") were shown on TV LAND within the last decade in good-quality prints, leading me to suspect all 13 episodes were remastered for television play, though (like THE INVADERS) not in HD.

THE IMMORTAL (1970-71) --Another CBS/Paramount property not listed in the syndication bible. Again, like CORONET BLUE, good (likely non-HD) prints were made and shown on the SCI-FI CHANNEL about a decade ago, including the TV-Movie pilot, and filmed interview segments with the series' creators.

DECOY (1957-58) --A staple of the "public domain" world, though Liberation Entertainment has the official rights to it, and has remastered the series in recent years. If I'm not mistaken, Liberation licensed out DANIEL BOONE, THE INVISIBLE MAN (1950s), SPEED RACER, THE ADVENTURES OF SIR LANCELOT, etc, to other DVD companies, like Timeless and Dark Sky Films, so perhaps an "official" release of DECOY (and MR. LUCKY, and proper sets of PETER GUNN) through a smaller company isn't completely out of the question.

Interesting longshots guys . . .but longshots have come in before. I do think Paramount is the best studio right now for listening to its fans and getting more classic tv out.

If they're considering "When Things Were Rotten" they might consider other shows under their jurisdiction like Jake 2.0 and Legend.

Universal needs to get off their asses with Law & Order. I'd like to be able to watch the rest of the later years. Brisco & Greene were my favorite cop combo over the years, and I rather enjoyed Angie Harmon as an ADA. I'd gladly buy them all on the release day if I knew I could actually complete the set in my lifetime. I hope they quit doing double-sided discs though. I picked up season 4 and 5 for $10 at walmart, and I hate those discs. I wish they'd finish releasing Crossing Jordan too. If it was good enough to run 6+ seasons of, it's good enough to put on DVD this goddamn century.

Also, has anyone gotten some kind of response from Paramount about the MacGyver TV movies only being part of the complete set with the crap packaging and screwing the fans that bought all the individual seasons?

I'd gladly pay for the District too if someone would get around to releasing it.

I haven't received any further response about putting out a separate release... but keep at them.

Has anyone heard how the Bonanza season 1 sets 1 and 2 are selling? I hope well enough to bring out a season 2. But I have to be honest, I want to see the extras and the history of Bonanza more than watching the actual shows.

I do enjoy the comedy episodes with Hoss and Little Joe more than anything else. Let's see there's the one where Hoss came down with spring fever, the one where all three boys were fighting over a signorita and a bull got loose in town, there was the one were Little Joe outfoxed both Adam and Hoss on some kind of bets. . . those episodes were the best.

The Bonanza sets are still selling well at Amazon, so that's heartening.  And if Paramount still wants to release "official versions" of some PD chestnuts, there is a good portion of the second season that needs reclaiming.

OTOH, only the first season has had HD transfers made according to the CBS Syndication Bible.

Along those same lines, I'd like to see more Beverly Hillbillies, Petticoat Junction and One Step Beyond in 2010, but none of those shows have had HD transfers beyond what's already been released.   Which isn't a sign of being abandoned, because we are already are hearing rumors of additional seasons of The Lucy Show, but none of those episodes are in HD yet either.

But the good news is S4 of The Fugitive will be available in HD transfers in the 4th Quarter of 2009.

And for those who would like to check on things themselves:

I'm hoping for a possible further season release or half season sets of Touched By An Angel depending how these Best Of Sets sell.
Wonder if we will see New Amsterdam or Women's Murder Club Complete Season sets.

Long shots but would like to see

Poltergeist: The Legacy - Season 2
Strong Medicine - Season 2
VIP - Season 2

Although "The Big River" states this will be released next month, I am confident that we'll see Run Joe Run by this time next year.
