I took the survey and received the coupon which doesn't apply to the recent Jolson pack. With shipping and tax included the sale pricing isn't that appealing.
Coupons and codes are never applicable to discounted items already on sale like the value paks.
I took the survey.  Until they offer a subscription that brings the price under $10 per disc, I'm not interested.  3 DVDs for $39.95?  No.  3 DVDs for $29.95?  I'll consider it.

And the survey didn't ask, but since these are barebones discs with no paper inserts, how about switching to slimmer packaging?

Not true. I got several of the value packs using 25% coupons which brought the cost down to $7.50 per movie. I bought the Gable/Crawford, Westerns, and Sci Fi sets. The coupons didn't work on the choose 5 for $49,99 deal but did work on the value packs until now.

This special edition actually came out a few year ago.  You can get it through Amazon.

I hope this will help.  Use the code XB1C92.  It will take 20% off os Warner Archive titles, including the Jolson set.
As I said earlier, I was told by the customer service department that coupons and promotional codes were NOT supposed to work on value paks but because of a computer "glitch", they did. This has since been rectified.

As for slim cases, please! The packaging is just fine, don't put any crazy ideas in their head. If you're obviously not interested in the Archives collection as it stands, why do you care what they come in?

These titles are now listed in the new release section as available for ordering:

      Badlanders, The
      Best of the Badmen
      Confessions of a Nazi Spy
      Fastest Gun Alive, The
      Gabriel over the White House
      Gold of the Seven Saints
      Iron Mistress
      Look for the Silver Lining
      Master Race, The
      Mission To Moscow
      Mortal Storm, The
      Rancho Notorious
Robert Benchley Shorts (3 DVD Set)
      Rounders, The
      The Sheepman
      They Won't Forget (1937)
      Tribute To A Bad Man
      Whipsaw (1935)

The Robert Benchley shorts are priced at $29.95.

Look For The Silver Lining has already been available at Amazon for $28.95.  I think it is the last of the Amazon "exclusives" to now be made available at the WB Shop.

I am very interested in the several new "Politics and Propaganda" titles (Gabriel Over the White House; They Wont Forget; Confessions of a Nazi Spy; The Mortal Storm; Mission to Moscow;
The Master Race) - I hope they are bundled soon.  There are also several new westerns that could be bundled from this group.

My patience has paid off with the arrival of the Jolson bundle.  But I reiterate that I hope they will create new bundles at the same time the titles are individually issued.  I'm still hoping for Elizabeth Taylor and Hedy Lamar bundles, and hope that, as with the Jolson bundle, my patience pays off.

This makes me realize that - for the most part - I am awaiting - not the announcement of new titles so much as  - the announcement of new "value pak" bundles.

Greylock, I know what you mean. I check out the new titles, but for buying i check sales or value paks. Mostly the value paks.

Using the codes multiple times were a glitch - and the code posted by moviebuff worked just fine.

I wonder what they will release next week?

The Warner Archives are having a Halloween sale through November 14, 2009. 25 % off each title or 50% off all 9 items. Titles are: MY BLOOD RUNS COLD, CRESCENDO, JACK THE RIPPER, DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK, RAZORBACK, FROM HELL IT CAME, THE STRANGER WITHIN, THE TERMINAL MAN and BAD RONALD.
I wish it was 50% off period. I 've already bought 3 of the titles.
I just checked the Warner Archive, and while I can find the 25% off Halloween offer, I don't see anything about 50% off for all nine. Does that automatically kick in if you order all nine individually?
The e-mail I got from the Archive people definitely says 50% off if all 9 titles are ordered. Surprised it's not mentioned on the site. Perhaps if you placed an order via the phone as opposed to the site.
The same 50% offer was e-mailed to me yesterday. I did check the box to receive special offers when I placed my first order.

Guess I'll wait for them to bundle the Gordon Scott's and that will neatly end any interest I have in the Archives.  Nice to see that finished in a timely manner.
My interest only grows; glad to see the Scotts (though will only purchase the two good ones) but also SO FINE, GILDA LIVE, and SLITHER (indicated as fullscreen but that's likely a mistake). Not that I want to revisit it, but UNDER THE RAINBOW has pretty much been hiding under a rock for 30 years and its reappearance in OZ's anniversary year will titillate curiousty seekers.

They've also removed most of the value paks. Only 5 are left: Lex Barker Tarzan, Gary Cooper, Al Jolson, the Wizard of Oz stars, and the Roddenberry TV movies. Another website glitch? Or if the missing paks are gone for good, why couldn't they make an announcement that they were available for a limited time only?

When will that bizaarro website be fixed?  I can't trust anything that it says.

Your wish has been granted.  The six Gordon Scott Tarzan movies are now available as a bundle for $59.95

With the Gordon Scott Tarzan, there are now 6 value paks. The site changes by the hour.

I hope we see the older ones return, and that their disappearance is just a glitch with the site.
Thanks to moviebuff. The code you gave got me another $12 off the Scott Tarzan set.
Frank,

What was the total on the Gordon Scott set for you? I selected the set and entered the code, which got me to $48. Then the odd math from WB came into play. $48 + $7 (shipping) = $65? (should be $55).

They do make it difficult to buy from them at times. I really only wanted the two last Gordon Scott films. With the insider discount it takes it from $20 a film down to $15 a film, which I would be willing to do to get these. However, shipping for two films is $10. That is ridiculous shipping charges.

They just make it difficult to pull the trigger on either one of these options. If they will put out a free shipping option maybe I will reconsider.
This is nuts.  I just recommended someone go order the Randolph Scott pak, and now it's gone.   Hope he didn't dither.  Anyway, pulled the trigger on Jolson and the Wizard of Oz paks, before they disappear too.  Too bad the Gable ones are gone; I would have bought them, but I'm not paying $20 for these.  But they gave me free shipping, for some reason.  However, I've never gotten the Insider discount, ever.  Most of the time the coupons they send me don't work either.  What a half-assed website.

I realize your question wasn't directed at me, but I got it shipped for $59.59, after applying moviebuff's discount code.  The breakdown was as follows:

Merchandise Total $47.96
Shipping Total: $6.95
Sales Tax Total: $4.68
Total: $59.59

Basically, the discount negated the tax and shipping, which I can live with.
Brad,

I ordered the Scott set ,which came to 48 with discount. and the Benchly set ,which was 29.99.No discount on the Benchley set. So the total was around 77 and change. I got free shipping because the order was over $60.

Glad they announced GILDA LIVE, which I always enjoyed, and MADE IN HEAVEN, flawed but nevertheless a interesting curio from Alan Rudolph.,

Interesting to see TARZAN AND THE TRAPPERS on the list of the 6 Gordon Scott TARZAN films released. I wonder what the quality is.
