Need assistance finding low-mid end receiver with dependable HDMI

Thread Starter
I have a friend who just recently bought a PS3, is enjoying
the Blu-ray quality is provides, but cannot use it with his
receiver because it is not HDMI compatible.

He doesn't want to spend a wealth of money on a new
receiver.  He wants one that is dependable, provides a
few HDMI inputs and is well-rated.

Anybody have any recommendations?

He should check out the Onkyos in his price range. I haven't heard very many complaints. I own an 805, but no BD player yet. DVD is connected to my receiver via component, but have HDMI going from receiver to tv. It has been working very well. I'll have a BD player by November.......

Also check out the Denon 1610.  List price is the higher than the Onkyo 507, but 6ave is running a sweet deal on it right now if you search for the coupon.
