Receiver?'s

Hello,
I am looking at purchasing the YAMAHA 7.2-RX-V765 ($404) or Onkyo TX-SR607B ($399) with SVS S-Series SBS-01 7.1 surround speakers. The Onkyo up-conversion is 720p and the Yamaha is 1080p. So does that mean if you connect a blueray/ps3 and fios cable video signal will be the quality the receiver can send out? Which one would be the best choice?

Thanks

I wouldn't buy a receiver at that level based on upconversion.  For Blu-ray, the signal is already 1080p to begin with, on most discs.  For cable, your TV probably will do a better job than those receivers, just turn off the upconversion feature.

Remember the upconversion can take place in either the source device, the receiver, or the television itself, and the differences are rather subtle.  If the TV or source does it well, the upconversion capabilities of the receiver are irrelevant as you won't be using them.

Thanks. I am purchasing the Samsung 63" PN63B590T5. So which receiver would be the best choice?

I like the Onkyo because of the Audyssey EQ. Other than that, it is a toss up.
