Could someone help me please?

I have a 50" RCA Home Theatre and yesterday while i was watching it went blank and started ticking.  i don't know what the ticking is if it's a timer to re-set it's self, to die or blow up! 

i unplugged the thing and it continued to tick for only a few seconds.  When i re-plug in it starts the ticking again...

Could be a bad fan?  What kind of TV is it (DLP, Plasma, etc)?

from what i've found from the numbers on the back and surfing it's: RCA home theater 60" television. Model P60928 51.5"W x 25"D x 61"H The manuel didn't come with it, by accident it was left behind when this was given to me. all i know is i love it and miss this thing! LOL... Thanks for helping me!
