Projector Fan Noise Reduction?

Hello,

I have this projector, it hangs over the viewing-area.
With enough audio around it's not too noticeable but in quiet moments it's quite tiresome.

Now I know there's the common advice to create a Hushbox, and I think that would be nice.
But there is honestly not much room around the projector itself,
as it hangs from a beam in the top of an angled roof.
Sso I'd like to try any other options first.

First of all, would it help if I'd put some of that black "pointy" foam against the roof
 next to the projector?
The roof itself already has rough wooden plates on the inside, but I'm not sure if it reflects a lot.
I'm also not sure, as the room is fairly compact,
if I'd lock in the noise even more by adding more layers to the "walls".

Then also, I used to tape up one side of the air-outlet of the projector,
causing the air to be forced out of the front grille instead.

It reduced the noise, but I'm a little hesitant to close it off,
especially took it off during the summer of the last months.

Anyway, someone was able to get me this sort of synthetic "foam",
which came from these machine/computer-closets in a factory he works at.
I put that on the same outlet, it reduced the noise a little less, but at least it's something.

Do you think it would be bad for the projector if I'd also put it on the intakes?

This material is strange, it's very thick, but you could literally just breathe through it all day.

I just don't know if it would obstruct the airflow too much on a device...

Well, I use it on this very PC, overclocked too, but PCs are a little different story...

Besides that, a while ago I was still thinking about replacing the fan
with a new (quieter) one if possible.

As I thought there was one 80mm-fan inside, that I could see, until I cracked it open.

I found out there is this frickin' blower-fan in the middle of this thing and it's even smaller,
 thus more noise.

I'm sure it's the culprit of the noise and really want to tear it out.
It's really similar to those blower-fans they put on videocards and I hate them.
But I think it's attached to the lamp-compartment, so I guess that would be a big no-no... -_-

Do you have any other suggestions to silence the device itself?
Or maybe redirect the noise?
I'm thinking of perhaps trying to make a screen just below the projector
I can roll open across the attic and close afterwards.
But yeah... I don't know, might not help much...

sound deadening material around the PJ would help a bit...make sure it doesnt impede with air flow.

Good luck

OK, I'll just give some foam against the angled roof (next to the projector) a try anyway.

There isn't much airflow in the room but the area around the projector is left as clear as possible.

I didn't ever see a warning-logo/light pop up on the projector, not even in the summer, so I guess I'm on the safe side. :)
The fans are probably blowing hard enough, hearing the noise of them. -_-
