Stewart Filmscreen Introduces Lifestyle Screen Housing That Doubles as Architectural Soffit

CEDIA EXPO - Atlanta, GA - September 10, 2009 - Stewart Filmscreen Corporation®, the industry leader in precision projection screen technologies for residential and commercial markets announces the launch of the all new Americana Screen, an exciting and stylish addition to their Cabaret line of electric retractable screens for applications where the screen housing is exposed.
 

This is Stewart's second retractable screen created especially for the lifestyle customer, following on the success of the Cabaret Screen. Like the Cabaret, the Americana offers an innovative approach to roll down screens that is perfect for creating media rooms in family rooms, recreation rooms, or any living space within the home – offering precision operation and concealment of projection screens. The screen housing is cut with flat corners allowing precision wall-to-wall installations that create an architectural soffit. The removable aluminum valance comes in various finishes, and can be customized with the color of the client’s choosing.

In addition to being a beautiful enhancement to any multimedia environment, the Americana Screen is constructed for quick and easy installation. The soffit-styled design ensures an uncluttered appearance, hiding power and home automation connections. The ease and flexibility of installation extends to the motor unit as well, giving installers the option of using any motor they choose including Lutron QS and Legacy 120v quiet motors.

Stewart’s new LED lighting system is also available for the Americana. It is designed to backlight the projection screen with the appropriate color setting to enhance viewing environments. This unique form of bias lighting allows for a more comfortable viewing environment by providing ambient mood lighting for the room that enhances image fidelity rather than detracting from it. Stewart Filmscreen is the only screen manufacturer to incorporate LED lighting technology into retractable projection screen solutions.

The Stewart Americana Screen can be seen at CEDIA in Booth #837 at the Georgia World Conference Center in Atlanta from September 10-13. The Stewart Americana Screen is currently available in sizes up to 16 feet.
