Receiver / BlueRay problem

Thread Starter
So I bought a new BD on Friday. Hooked it up, everything was working fine all weekend. Today, when I try to turn it on, I get no picture. I've searched the net, called Samsung, and finally thought I'd give this forum a shot.

Here's the deal:

Samsung BD player model # bd-p1600
Pioneer Receiver model # vsx-519v

The BD plays just fine when plugged straight into the tv but doesn't work when plugged into the receiver. I have an HDMI cable running from the BD to the receiver and an HDMI running from the receiver up. The exact same setup I had when it worked all weekend.

I turn on the BD which sets the TV to HDMI8 where it's plugged in. I hit the BD button on the receiver remote (I have 5 remotes for now until I feel comfortable that it's working and will upgrade to universal remote). After I hit the BD button...I see nothing...hear nothing...but the BD is functioning as it should, at least via the prompts on the unit.

Again, I'd like to mention that the exact same setup and actions to turn it on worked all weekend so I have no idea why it's not working through the receiver now.

Any help would be appreciated.

Something has happenned to cause this. Maybe you hit a button a the remote without knowing it? Maybe you made a change in a setup menu that you thought wouldn't affect anything else? As a last resort, try disconnecting everything and starting over again. These things are usually something simple and basic, but very frustrating. Here's a couple of quick things you can do/check if you haven't already tried them.

The 519 has two hdmi inputs, switch from one to the other.

Turn everything off, wait ten minutes then turn them on again.

Reset the receiver to factory defaults (see pg 46).

Re-check the settings in the setup menu of both the receiver and BR player.

If none of these work then I haven't a clue.
