Need info on Acoustic Reaserch Model S108PS.........Subwoofer

I just purchased a Denon AR-2310CI. I have the above subwoofer, but not the owners manual. It would be really appreciated if anybody has any information as to how I adjust this sub to accomodate the Audyssey setup system. I now have a splitter in back of the sub that links the Left and Right channel or something. I am not a super audiophile, as you can tell.
Any responses will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I couldn't find much on-line about that sub. Recoton/AR's website is down for re-modeling.

I don't see a need for a splitter. Just use one rca cable to connect the receivers Sub Woofer Out to the AR's input Left or Right. No need to split the cable into both inputs. I always use the Left input.

If the sub has a volume control, set it in the middle. If it has a Crossover adjustment, set it to it's highest setting, usually around 150. If it has a Phase setting, set it to 0. That should be close enough for Audyssey to do it's thing.

This was great. Thank you. The 1 question I have is setting the Crossover adjustment to it's highest level. Mine does go to 150 and I set it there, but, doesn't this max out any adjustment? I have not done the setup yet, but I am just getting ready to do it in the near future. I guess I'm a stickler about getting the questions answered first, before I tackle any intense job.
Thanks again:

Audyssey will set the receivers cross-over to the (hopefully) correct setting. The cross-over in the sub isn't really used. Example: let's say you set the cross-over on the sub to "60" and Audyssey sets the one in the receiver to "100". The receiver will then send all frequencies under 100 to the sub but the sub would only produce those under 60. Frequencies between 60 and 100 would not be produced. That's why you set the subs setting to it's highest setting.

And remember, those settings on the sub are rarely accurate. Often times lab tests show when a sub is set at 80 the true cross-over point is 120. So matching the subs cross-over to that on the receiver could cause more harm than good. It's best to just set it to it's highest setting and let the receiver do it's thing.

The only time the cross-over setting is really used in the sub is when the sub is connected by speaker wire and not rca cable.

And with regard to the volume control, after running Audyssey you should be able to check the settings it came up with. If it has set the sub woofer volume to it's highest (or lowest) setting then re-adjust the volume knob on the sub and run Audyssey again. If you start out with the sub at it's highest setting Audyssey may not be able to lower the sub woofer output from the receiver low enough. Then the sub will over-power the rest of the system. Did that make sense?

The newer Denon's like yours will stop you after the first pings that Audyssey sends if your sub volume is too high.  Just follow the instructions on the screen.

This information is exactly what I needed. Thanks for the help. I am really excited to get the Denon hooked up. To put more spice into the questioning mode, I also picked up the LG-BD390 Blue Ray player. If there is anything special that I need to sync this with the 2310, please feel free to pass that info along also. I will be greatly honored to have your input.
Thanks again:
