I remember reading this article about a 3 hour cut of Hannibal back in 2001/2:

It would effectively be Ridleys first cut of the film. I think he also mentions it on the previous commentary.
But as far as I know - nothing ever happened. Was the longer cut ever shown on american tv?
Is there a chance that it might still surface on Bluray? I would be very interested to see it.
