speaker placement?

I know , I know more speaker questions, mine is more a comment though.

I'm moving soon and the dedicated home theater room is about 15*11 and my plan was a 7.1 setup using Polk Monitor 60's for fronts, CS2 center, Monitor 40's for surrounds and Monitor 30's for rear surrounds. May upgrade the 40's for some type of di pole/bi pole but cost is a factor.

Now someone in another forum thought this would be overkill because of the size of room, what are your thoughts?

IMO this question is probably more about the placement of your seating.  If your seats will be up against the back wall in a room that size, then I would agree that you will probably not benefit from 7.1.  If your seating is 4 or 5 feet in front of the back wall, then I think you could benefit from a properly setup 7.1 system.
