looking to buy a HD media player

hi HT-ers:

I am looking to buy a HD media player which can stream media files from my PC to my LCD TV screen.  I have seen some products out there made by WD and Netgear.  Has anyone bought and used those?  The netgear EVA700 seems to have all the desired functionalities but it is very expensive.  At $399 a pop, I'm not sure if I want to do that.  I heard PS3 can stream media files, but it is kinda bulky if I want to move it to different rooms.

My friend has been recommending the Zinwell ZP-500 that people in Asia use a lot.  I found a listing on EBAY:

At $159, it seems to have most of the functionalities that I want and supports true HD.  Has anyone used this before?

Cheers,

Zinwell is a very respected manufacturer of satellite equipment.  I have never used it but would feel comfortable buying it.

The Popcorn Hour Media Tank has been around for a couple of years and they have had numerous updates to CODECS and the interface.  It is similarly priced.

I have also seen dozens of Asian manufactured players for sale for under $100.  I have no idea on quality or current availability.

Hello,

I am trying to pick out a wireless HD media player that suits my needs. In my research I have found many manufacturers who each have their own varied versions. To name some : HDX, Dune, Mediagate, Mvix, Tvix, Popcorn Hour, D-Link, Sling, Squeezebox and more. I find it is so hard to make a choice because there is no single website that have a comparison tool to show the similarities or differences of one over the other media player.
