Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K vs Denon AVR-1910

I am comparing these receivers and would like some input from others that have purchased either of these or even avoided them and purchased something else. My 12+ year old Denon receiver didn't make it through a recent lightning strike nearby and want to replace it for ~$400 - $800.

They seem comparable in capabilities; however, the Denon requires an iPod dock (extra $100) versus the Pioneer's built in.

Thanks.

If you look around you can find last year's Pioneer Elite VSX03 for around $580.  I picked one up and couldn't be happier..

Jason,

I would take the Denon over the Pioneer at this point because I think Audyssey Room EQ on the Denon is the best EQ available today.  Pioneer uses MACC.

Have you looked at Onkyo?

David - I had not considered Onkyo mainly because I don't know much about the brand. What insight do you have on comparable receivers by Onkyo in the range I am looking.

Check out the Onkyo 607 or 706.  I have the 705 and really like it.  I would not hesitate to purchase Onkyo again when I upgrade in a few years.  I have owned Harmon Kardon and Sony in the past (as well as Pioneer and Panasonic HTiBs).
