Dear Warner Bros, may I have my favorite cartoon...?

It was included on an imported laser disc collection of Tex Avery cartoons, and was a Warner Bros. cartoon (as opposed to an MGM), but it has been left off of all six Looney Tunes collections. The cartoon?

OF FOX AND HOUNDS (1940)

This is the classic that partly parodies OF MIICE AND MEN and feaures an incredibly dumb hound dog asking the clever fox, "Which way did he go, George, which way did he go?" followed by several clumsy runs off a cliff. This has been a favorite cartoon of mine since chilhood. But it's M.I.A. on DVD (in this country, at least).

Please, Mr Feltenstein or whoever, we need more of your cartoons. You have said that there will be no more 4-disc collections of classic cartoons. Are you planning to release more via your Archive collection? Although you have given us a Droopy collection, there are many Tex Avery cartoons still needing release, and a LOT of Avery fans waiting to scoop up his WB and MGM titles.

Thanks for your consideration.

I wish Criterion would simply license out the MGM films and release a proper set.

Warners wouldn't touch this stuff nowadays unless it was in the archive and even then we'd have incorrect titles, mismatched soundtracks from edited synidcation broadcasts, interlaced transfers of shorts and the usual treatment from WHV animation that has plagued every single golden age cartoon release save for Popeye. They simply can't get it right and clearly don't have the interest as this has been one of the most requested sets since the launch of the format... instead they release series like Wait Till Your Father Gets Home and wonder why they can't keep these box sets on retail shelves. I'd be dumping them back on Warners too! These guys are totally clueless abd it's simply time for another licensee to step up to the plate and acquire the distribution rights to get these long past due films out as they deserve to be, if we ever hope to see them in any format again!

There are existing threads for requesting titles in the Warner Archive collection, and I believe the Tex Avery cartoons have already been requested. Feel free to add your voice in the appropriate thread.
