Oppo bdp-83 and canadian retailers

Just wondering if anyone could tell if they bought direct from oppo, or which of the two canadian retailers they used and how the service was.

Also was curious if you bought direct if there was any customs charges.

Thanks.

PS if you have this player, would also be interested in hearing about the media play back capabilities, ie the responsiveness.  currently i have a media extender and it is painfully slow, almost to the point of not being able to use it.  On the other side my friend has the WD HD TV media player and it is as responsive as using a dvd menu.

I purchased my Oppo as I didn't want to wait until the resellers had them available, nut it did cost more in shipping as a result.

As they send it by USPS you pay only a small Customs processing fee from Canada post ($5 if I recall). Much less than you pay with the courier companies. Of course you still pay the GST/PST.

Very quick loading player ( i have 4 others to compare it to). Very quick at playing things like MKV files, just takes a couple of steps to go through the menu rather than starting on its own

the 2 retailers are Solutions A/V and Only Best rated.

Wondering if anyone had any dealings with either of these places?

thanks

I bought an Oppo DV-983H DVD Player from ONLY BEST RATED before. The only issue was that I had pre-ordered it and it kept getting delayed and after 3 weeks they finally had some in stock. I picked it up from their warehouse locally and that was that. So I would recommend them.
