Hooking up external speaker to surround system?

Need to connect my AR AW811 wireless outdoor speaker (usermanual: http://www.retrevo.com/r/18843ci958/3/II.+Connecting+the+Speaker+System#q=Acoustic+Research+AW811) to my Yamaha RXV-800 (user manual: http://www2.yamaha.co.jp/manual/pdf/av/english/re/RX-V800kai.pdf).  I know that it is an easy connection, but for the moment I am having a senior citizen experience and I'm having trouble figuring out where to put the speaker's RCA jacks.

I will be using the speaker (one speaker, mono) to channel sound from the music stations from my cable provider.  Essentially, my sound hook ups are as follows: Cable Box: Dig Coax to Yamaha coax Cbl/Sat In and for DVD: Dig Optical to Yamaha DVD Dig Optical In.  I need to know which audio output to use.  BTW, the TV will be off; there will be no need for it to be on as the sound signal will be passing directly into the Yamaha.  Also, if possible, I'd like the hook up to allow me to switch between the cable box and the DVD sound sources.  Thanks.

Any of the analog R/L audio out ports will suffice.  There are ones for VCR1, VCR2 and Zone 2 (the one I'd use) right under the analog inputs for the DVD/Cable/Sat/TV.

Thanks, I couldn't figure out which audio out to use:  the bank you suggested or the bank just before it.  Also, when I first had the external speaker set up, I was getting sound from it and from my surround sound speakers, simutaneously (mode AVR set at cable/tv...I think).  But when I redid the set up (for a new hdmi plasma), I pulled everything from the back of my Yamaha without paying attention to where the jacks came from, so this brings me to ask: If I use Zone 2 out, do I have to select anything in particular on the AVR to get it to work?  Will sound come from the external and main system speakers.

I'd stay away from any tape montor and/or recorder stuff, it usually is a fixed level output for recording purposes, so the volume control won't work (although if your speaker setup has its own volume control, it would be perfect to have a fixed output). As far as using the second zone input goes, you will be able to hear any input (analog only, no digital) in the second room.  So you could always dedicate one of the VCR1/2 inputs as your "Zone 2" input and connect the analogs from the cable box to that.

Hooked jacks to Zone 1, VCR1, VCR1 OUTS, no sound from external speaker.

Even from the FM tuner?  You may have to connect analog audio from your other sources to the receiver, maybe it doesn't send digital signals to the analog outputs.
