Ugh. As if books weren't as bad as Snappers already, now they're doing them for an entire season of a TV show? I think I'm glad the movie turned me off the series.

If you didn't even give the series a chance, I think alot of fans would tell you to check it out. I've seen plenty of people who didn't watch the movie or didn't like it and they love the series.

I find the Digibook packaging totally perplexing on this type of release.    After all, this is a kid's show when you get right down to it.

Come on now.  I can't think of anybody who liked snappers, whereas Digibooks not only have decent quality disc holders, but also supplemental info.  I know I'm not anywhere near alone in liking them, and I certainly wouldn't include it in my criteria for not buying a movie (especially considering the easy availability of 1- and 2-disc Blu-ray cases and cover art)

The older I get, the less I care about the packaging.

Yeah it's the film / tvseries that is more important for me

As a parent, I was thinking about the packaging from a child's point of view.  It isn't very rugged.

I know there was question in another thread about what the aspect ratio would be on this release but, unsurprisingly, it's the correct 2.35:1.

From starwars.com:

"A Note About Aspect Ratios
These sets are the only place to see The Clone Wars in the full widescreen aspect ratio the television show is produced in. While the network broadcasts are presented in widescreen rectangular format, these versions are even wider, like the Star Wars movies, with more imagery stretching beyond the edges of the frame."

There's a look at each of the discs here: http://www.starwars.com/theclonewars/news20091030dvd/index.html

I'm curious as to what resolution this was rendered in--if we're losing picture detail when we're gaining area, or if it was always rendered in... umm... can't do the right math here, but ~800 pixels high?

Any reviews on this? I ordered, but it hasn't arrived yet. I'm anxious to see if the PQ lives up to my expectations.
