Just watched Planet of Vampires in HD. Great to see it instead of the non-anamorphic SD. Also, and what a treat, The Monster that Challenged the World in 1.85:1!!!
The picure was brighter than the SD, which, by the was is 1.37:1 on the SD. The HD had more info on the sides, but the SD has quite a bit more on the top, but not necessarily on the bottom.
Even though the SD states that the film has been formatted to fit your TV, I wonder if it was just open matte?
Anyway, if you get a chance, it's a treat. Gotta get back to watch some more horror, such as Count Yorga!
