Audio Help

Thread Starter
Heres the rundown on what I got. My television has an optical out and coaxil audio out. I have an xbox 360 with only component cables and optical out. I also have a bluray with hdmi and optical out. My surround sound receiver  has one optical cable in and one coaxil for digital inputs. I would like to get digital audio out of everything I own. So what do i need to do?

Option 1: Look to see if your receiver has a "multi-channel analog in".  *Inputs* marked for front/surround/center etc.  If your Blu-ray has corresponding outs, you could use this.  (It's not a digital connection but it's equivalent/better quality, just digital->analog decoding/conversion is done in the BD player rather than the receiver).

Option 2: Get an optical switch.  Manual is ~$10-15.  Remote controlled maybe ~$40.

Option 3: buy new surround receiver with more inputs.
