Should this concern me?

My Bluetooth mouse stopped working today, so I uninstalled and reinstalled it.

As my PC was searching for Bluetooth devices, it found my daughter's Macbook, which was maybe ten yards away. This is the first time this has happened.

I'm not very familiar with Bluetooth stuff. Is this an indication that her Mac is not secure? Should I do anything about it?

Thanks!

That just means her Bluetooth is set to "discoverable".  Most are by default.  If you are worried about it just go into the bt preferences and turn that part off.  Nothing to worry about though.  Just because someone can see your daughters computer doesn't mean they can attach to it.  And they have to be really close.  This is why bt requires a code to set up shares between devices.

That's what I thought. Thanks, Don.
