One of the retailers I used to do business with, (Goodguys) is no longer in business.  In 2005 I moved to Phoenix, AZ and came accross a place called Ultimate Electronics.  I made a number of purchases from them but now I am back in Whittier, CA in the Los Angeles area and need to find a good retailer for A/V gear.  I definantly do not like Best Buy and hate there selection anyway.  Not only that I have had nothing but problems with them when there is a problem.  Circuit City was not the greatest but they are gone as well !  Fry's Electronics doesn't really carry a great selection ether.  They do have the upper line of Onkyo but price wise I am looking in the area of $1200 to $1600 and I do not care for the TX-SR806.  Onkyo really gutted the 805 and the lack of Burr Brown DAC's suck and the 50MHz component video I am not crazy about ether.  I have not totally ruled out the Onkyo 876 but there customer service is not all that hot and that conserns me a bit.  So far at this point I am focusing on Denon and maybe Marantz.  A Rotel would be a really nice touch to my ht especially in the audio section as far as I know.

Would love some recomendations for retailers.

Does anyone here have one of the new Rotel receivers with HDMI 1.3 and Dolby True HD & DTS-HD MA decoding?  Is there any problems with the reciever?  How does it perform in the audio department?  Is there any HDMI issues with it?

And so far Sony/Sony ES is not an option as I really do not like there recievers.  While they are  priced competativly and have alot of HDMI inputs for the money.  I just do not like the amplifier section of the Sonys or the surround modes.  And am not all the trilled about the room correction they are using!  I wished they would have gone with Audyssey instead of there in house solution and used a better amplifier section as well.

I have wanted to upgrade my old Yamaha RX-V995 for a few years now but just haven't been able to scrape up the cash.  And having to move back to So Cal didn't help at all.  There went my reciever money right there .  I am still hopefull that I will upgrade at the end of the year or the begining of next year.

Here is my current setup, after recent Direct TV HD-DVR upgrade:
