Changing Theme

Apologies if this has been asked before, but the answer is not readily apparent in any forums or the FAQs:

How do you change the appearance theme ?   The light blue/magenta text is difficult to read, especially when complimented by  never-ending advertisements for products not related to HT.   I would like thread titles to appear bold and slightly larger and not get washed out with the drivel.

I appreciate your upgrade efforts, but I visit this site a lot less since the upgrade

Sorry to see you go but I really think that it's your loss rather than ours.  You come in and ask a question and once it's not answered after five days you leave?  If you had been a new member then I would have just dismissed it as a couple of posts from someone passing through but your information shows that you have been at the HTF for ten years with thousands of posts.  Surely you can see the tremendous progress that has been made in the one month that HTF 2.0 has been in existence.  There have been many, many changes made and the tech staff can't do everything at the same time.  Operational issues take precedence over appearance issues and I would guess that they didn't even see your request.  You are probably referring to the various "skins" that the old vBulletin allowed, right?  I think that they are working on something in that vein but it's much further down the queue than performance issues (which have been solved with geometric, not arithmetic progress!).  The beauty of HTF 2.0 is much more than skin deep.



Did you make your request in the thread specifically created to take user input for features they want?  The tech staff hangs out there on a regular basis.  Bidding us and our advertisers a "fond adieu" and using words like "drivel" certainly doesn't help your case.  Just an observation.  The number of active users here has increased dramatically since the "new" HTF opened so we must be doing something right.

I'm not going to post any "Goodbye Cruel HTF!" threads any time soon, but I have to say that the original poster is right, this color combo is extremely hard on the eyes, and without vBulletin style skins, there's no way to fix it.  It's a case of someone's grand design vision interfering with real world usability.  The whole way the forum works reminds me of a warmed-over PHPBB3. Bleh.
