I may be wrong but I hunted back five pages and didn't find a thread. Sometimes, even popular movies don't show up here.
Took the wife out to see "The Proposal" today. It's very fomulaic, the setup is something we've seen numerous times before. Sometimes, though, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. If it's done well, it's at least enjoyable and fun.
The Proposal isn't anywhere near the best movie I've seen this summer, but it's comforting and has a cute storyline that helps.
What really helps sell this movie is the characters. Sandra Bullock is her normal adorable self, but the movie is really sold by Betty White.

There are very few actors in any media that can carry the role that Betty White does in this film and make you laugh damn near everytime you see her.
This is a solid, not great date film with a few very good performances. If you're seeing it second run (we caught it today for $3.50 a ticket) it's worth every penny. It's not the kind of film I'd see opening day, but we had a good time today and I'd recommend.
